Althea is currently seeking a Research Associate I - Crystalomics
. Althea’s Crystalomics team is a group dedicated to protein crystallization for the development of sustained release and high concentration formulations. Crystalomics is a platform unique to Althea and has been utilized to develop alternative drug delivery formulations of drug substances that are advancing into clinical trials.
The Associate I develops and optimizes crystallization screens and formulations. This position regularly exercises technical discretion in design, execution, and interpretation of experiments.

Responsible for performing research and development experiments for projects and products in collaboration with others.
Uses professional concepts in accordance with company objectives to solve complex problems in creative and effective ways.
Investigates, creates, and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement under limited supervision.
Exercises technical discretion in design, execution, and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project goals.
Creates and updates SOP’s.
Contributes to project progress within scientific discipline through innovative research.
Maintains laboratory notebooks, prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses.
Applies established principles, theories and concepts in area of responsibility, together with a working knowledge of related disciplines.
Responsible for identifying patentable inventions and acting as investigator in conducting his or her own experiments.
Embodies Althea’s cultural values by aligning daily actions with department goals and company culture.
Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.
Bachelor’s degree in a Life Sciences discipline or equivalent.
Zero to three (0-3) years of relevant experience in similar environment.
Protein crystallization experience is a strong plus.
Biophysical and biochemical characterization experience is a strong plus.
ELN experience is a plus.
Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, within prescribed guidelines, or as a team member.
Demonstrated ability to follow detailed directions in a laboratory environment.
Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
