Registered Nurse (RN) - Ambulatory Surgery

McLaren Northern Michigan Ambulatory Surgery Unit provides pre-operative and phase two post-operative nursing care for approximately 10,000 surgical and interventional procedures annually. This position requires strong multi-system nursing assessment skills, the ability to multi-task, and communication skills to teach and interact with diverse populations.

Reports to shift Team Leader and is accountable to the Department Manager. Utilizes Policies and Procedures to guide job duties.

Level specific criteria are evaluated annually and can be found in the McLaren Northern Michigan Clinical Ladder.

Applicant must have the desire and flexibility to be part of a team who believes high quality patient care is first priority.

Education:

As a Magnet organization, for those hired into an RN position after January 1, 2014, it is required

to obtain a BSN within five years of your start date as an RN with McLaren Northern Michigan. Certification in the specialty area of practice is strongly encouraged.

Licensure/Certifications:

License to practice nursing in the State of

Michigan

. BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.

Experience:

Must possess strong critical thinking and assessment skills. On-call rotation required.
