Responsibilities

The Regional Purchasing Analyst will provide purchasing support for all Divisions in the Region. They will assist with development of BidConnect including options, bids, and budgets as well as work with Division Purchasing in the process of unbundling, estimating and training of Division Purchasing teams as directed by the Regional Vice President of Purchasing. Support the Regional Vice President of Purchasing in efforts to drive cost savings and simplification along with implementation of Regional and Corporate initiatives.

The Regional Purchasing Analyst will

  • Provide oversight and analysis of Regional Purchasing objectives and outcomes budget vs. actual expenditures.

  • Monitor and analyze base house and option cost at the Division and Regional level.

  • Coordinate/generate base and option bids / takeoffs.

  • Generate spreadsheets that reflect changes in month to month operations such as base house cost, variance, option maintenance, and plan maintenance.

  • Work with the Regional Vice President of Purchasing in analyzing cost data.

  • Research and provide cost comparison and analysis (and thorough back-up data) for base house and option costs within and across divisions.

  • Communicate system changes to purchasing; new reports and tools within the system.

  • Generate and circulate purchasing analyses to in house personnel; review budget variances, option issues, base house costs.

  • Assist in implementation of new tools and reports for all the divisional Purchasing departments.

  • Perform data audits by reviewing plan and option masters for all divisions.

  • Special projects and assignments are a key function of this job, and encompass a significant portion of the work assigned to this position. Requires advanced skills in data interpretation and analysis.

  • Coordinate value engineering cost savings analysis.

  • Meet with new and existing Vendors to review their services and products.

  • Aid the National Accounts Manager in tracking rebates from Vendors and Manufacturers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two or more years of college, College degree is preferred

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Purchasing preferably in production homebuilding

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Excel

  • Experience with JDE and Hyphen or, similar systems is preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints and other construction documents preferred

  • Proficiency in Math and basic Accounting

  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate in a professional manner, with the majority of interactions occurring on the telephone

  • Ability to gather information and generate documents with accuracy

  • Ability to handle the stress of dealing with trades and with the public and react favorably to resolve issues in a positive manner
