Job Profile Under the direction of the Inside Sales Manager, the incumbent supports the overall sales effort of the assigned Region; this would include qualifying leads, managing assigned sales territory, and proactively contacting customers to establish new business and expand current business with existing customers through professional negotiation of pricing and use of sales skills, excellent customer service practices and accurate product knowledge over the telephone. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Ensures a safe work environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc's health and safety guidelines. Maintains call productivity and new account generation as well as other measures required by Management. While call volume is important in this role, the position involves good communication and collaboration with the field sales teams and to increase sales and gross profit. To make and accept customer telephone calls and provide honest, sincere and courteous assistance to the customer's needs including necessary follow up to ensure that the customer's expectations are met, or exceeded. Handles all aspects of a customer's questions and requests honestly and professionally. Provides written and verbal pricing quotes to customers in an organized, timely and professional manner. Maintains account information in CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) to include contact information, quoting, opportunities, competitive information and other recent activity data needed to handle the account reaching out to the customers within the assigned territory once quarterly at a minimum. Uses CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) to schedule and track, call planning, making sure to maintain a minimum of quarterly contact with customers. Attends all applicable Company training events to remain current on product knowledge, competitive information, sales skills and new procedures. Also enhances these skills through self-study, coaching sessions with manager to review phone calls or target areas for improved performance. Provides assistance in update training in CRM for outside sales as required. Follows all policies as defined in the Company policy manual including but not limited to the Antitrust Policy & Code of Ethics. Works with all Associates in a professional manner at all times. Potentially be called upon to train peers on topic with of which you have a strong understanding. Support Team Members either while out of office, or during the business day when called upon and can assist. Communicates ideas to enhance the program with VP of Sales openly. Follows all written and verbal procedures. Attends occasional store events, customer calls or regional/area meetings. Light travel. Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Post-secondary diploma or degree in related field preferred. Two years of Sales/Marketing training or experience preferred. Greater than one year but up to two years of industrial sales/inside sales preferred. Familiarity with CRM or similar sales based application an asset. Sales experience in either an industrial equipment rental or a welding equipment sales or rental environment (ideally construction, fabrication, and/or manufacturing sectors) an asset. Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding applications and equipment an asset. Skills Must have excellent technical knowledge as well as strong interpersonal and management skills. Requires high-quality presentation and negotiating skills. Ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds. Computer skills to produce effective spreadsheets, reports, documents and presentations, as required. Knowledge of MS Office applications. Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions. Communicates with clarity, verbally in one on one or group situations, and over the telephone. Communicates well in writing by composing clear documents. Able to calculate figures and apply concepts of basic algebra in determining gross margin, gross profit %, actual to goal figures, and freight considerations. Knowledge of welding products and process application extremely helpful. Effective verbal communication, follow-up, and rapport building skills. Well organized.
