Do you want to change the world? Are you passionate about bringing computer science education to every high school in the country? Do you have experience in leading and managing a team of diverse individuals? Then the TEALS Regional Manager Lead position might be for you (based in a state in the Great Lakes region).

TEALS (Technology Education and Literacy in Schools, ~~~ ), which is part of Microsoft Philanthropies, recruits, trains and supports high-tech industry volunteers who have knowledge and passion for computer science to teach introductory and Advanced Placement computer science courses in high schools across the country. TEALS is growing rapidly, roughly doubling the number of schools and students served each year. TEALS is an industry-wide, volunteer and community driven that is part of Microsoft Philanthropies. This year, TEALS is partnered with 343 high schools in 29 states DC working with 1050 volunteers representing over 500 different companies and serving approximately 12,000 high school students. For 2018-19, we are growing to 525 schools in over 31 states with 1,600 volunteers!

Responsibilities

As the TEALS Lead Regional Manager in the Great Lakes region, you will have a broad set of responsibilities to build and grow your team and school outcomes in your territories.

We will need you to:

Lead and support the TEALS Regional Managers in the Great Lakes region in the growth and retention of volunteer and school participation via a combination of mentoring, recruiting, training and retention strategies

Recruit and onboard new regional managers

Identify, build and grow strategic regional partnerships to accelerate school and volunteer engagement

Work across corporate, education and government settings and build strong relationships and partnerships that help further the TEALS mission

Be responsible for budget and outcome for the Great Lakes region

Work closely with the other TEALS Regional Leads, Program Team and the Leadership team to offer insights from your region to improve the overall program and to help define and execute on new strategic initiatives

Qualifications

Skills we are looking for:

Management of a geographically dispersed team

Classroom teaching

Volunteer management

Strong project management

Computer Science background a plus

Basic Requirements:

3 years management experience

7 years general industry working experience

Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment

Bachelor’s degree required
