Jacobs Federal Network Systems (FNS) provides highly sophisticated network systems design, engineering, operations, and maintenance, and offers cutting edge cybersecurity solutions for our customers in the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and other federal agencies. We deliver an integrated approach to network engineering design and network management, as well as full IT lifecycle service management, IT service delivery, asset management, logistics and procurement support, and software/hardware vendor management. Our network engineers, controllers, and technicians are trained in multiple disciplines to successfully maintain legacy systems as well as insert the latest technologies for voice, data, and video networks in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

JACOBS is seeking a Refresh Telecommunications Specialist in Chantilly, VA. Duties will include:

Install workstations at customer location per daily schedule

Operate, maintain, install and manage IT equipment and provide maintenance and support to customers after installation

Some troubleshooting techniques may be required to ensure customers are operational

Trouble shooting could include hardware of software failures

De-install/install workstations at customer locations, many security regulations must be followed to ensure each task is done safely and securely

Conduct survey of work area to include scanning old and new serial numbers, upload data to tickets for admin/asset team

Move IT equipment from various building utilizing carts, pallet jacks and large box trucks

Troubleshoot any issues that arise during installation, this could include hardware or software issues

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required

Two (2) years of college in a computer field and four (4) years of related experience or any equivalent combination of relevant education or experience for a total of six (6) years. Progressive relevant training and/or certification may be substituted for one (1) year of education or experience requirements.

Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing

Proficiency in the use of MS Office product suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint)

Some PC repair/troubleshooting skills may be required

Desired Requirements:

Telecommunications — extensive knowledge on a variety of telecommunications platforms and IT systems.

Installations — demonstrated high-level proficiency in leading and performing installations, modifications, and upgrades of highly specialized equipment and systems.

COMSEC — in-depth knowledge of policies and regulations, with a particular focus on communications security

Computers and Electronics — general knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.

Customer and Personal Service — knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Mission Awareness — organizational knowledge and understanding of the broader mission

Installation — install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications; plan, direct, and perform highly specialized technical projects

Troubleshooting — can test, identify, and resolve the most difficult equipment and system problems

Repairing — repair machines or systems using the needed tools.

Equipment Selection — determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.

Time Management — managing one's own time and the time of others.

Customer Service — committed to providing the highest levels of customer service; understand and respond to the customer’s requirements.

Collaboration — ability to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries.

Communications — ability to communicate complex issues to technical staff, customers, and senior management

Work Environment:

Depending on assignment, the work environment varies from an office environment to working in an environment that may include exposure to drafts,noise,dust,grease and dirt. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift/move small IT equipment. Ability to stand, bend and crouching for extended periods of time.

Equipment and Machines:

Ability to operate scanners, manual/electric pallet jacks, and be able to handle/move mobile carts .

Attendance:

Must be able to maintain regular, reliable attendance and ensure daily, on time arrival.

Attendance and punctuality are essential in this highly collaborative environment. Overtime work may be required in support of customer deliverables or other priority assignments as determined by management.

Must be able to work a 40 hour work week, normally Monday through Friday 7 am to 3:30 pm. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements.

Must take and pass a drug test and background check
