General Summary:The purpose of this position is the delivery of effective candidate sourcing, recruitment and selection processes to meet Starmount Life's business needs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Insure that Starmount Life hires the highest quality candidates with the skills, education and experience necessary to meet our business needs.

Develop and execute sourcing strategies for exempt and nonexempt openings to provide high quality, diverse candidate pools which position Unum to meet current and ongoing staffing requirements.

Social networking, cold calling, recruiting and closing candidates.

Implement selection processes and tools to support hiring managers with recruiting and selection.

Evaluate and select colleges and universities from which to source candidates and develop relationships, based on business needs.

Plan, coordinate and execute on-campus recruitment efforts (information sessions, career fairs, interviews).

Develop strong rapport/working relationships with diverse audiences including, but not limited to, candidates, college faculty and career office administration; community and profession organizations, and vendors.

Consult and educate managers and selection teams on recruiting and selection-related topics and issues. Provide a high level of customer service in consulting with and guiding hiring managers in comprehensive recruitment and staffing issues, policies, and processes.

Maintain effective and productive relationships with internal partners in the business areas and HR.

Compliance with all federal and state laws.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

BA, BS, or equivalent work experience preferred.

Knowledge of full lifecycle recruiting components including, but not limited to networking, sourcing, qualifying, and assessing.

Ability to establish rapport and credibility with candidates and project a positive image of the company, supporting the brand.

Strong interviewing and assessment skills

Strong negotiation, decision making and persuasion skills

Strong interpersonal skills required for effective networking

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work independently and take initiative in setting own direction within broad parameters

Solid understanding of Unum work environment, HR policies, and familiarity with staffing models and workforce planning issues

Understanding of the competitive forces influencing the job market/applicant pool and creatively addressing alternate recruiting strategies

Understanding of employment law, specifically as it relates to interviewing and selection

Resourceful, creative, ability to sell

Ability to balance multiple priorities and achieve results in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures

Demonstrated ability to recruit for a broad/deep range of positions with special emphasis on a well qualified and diverse pool of candidates in a timely, cost-effective manner

Technical aptitude: extensive use of internet as a vehicle for sourcing, job postings and researching; Ability to effectively utilize recruiting systems for tracking and managing applicants; Ability to grasp MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Project Management skills (often act as project lead and/or SME on small to mid-size projects)

Demonstrated ability to function/recruit on a national/international, multi-location level.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
