Ramp Agents are responsible for processing baggage between baggage areas in the airport facilities and aircraft, as well as receiving and dispatching aircraft. Part-time and Full-time positions may be available. Please indicate preference in screening questions: Routinely lift baggage, boxes, or cargo weighing 40 to 60 lbs when loading/unloading aircraft, and cartsPush/pull loaded and empty carts during loading/unloading operationsCouple/uncouple cartsBend/stoop then crawl to move and stack/un-stack baggage in aircraftComplete safety checklists for motorized equipmentDrive and operate motorized equipment (e.g., conveyor belt)Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, checked baggage tagsOperate a computer to enter and retrieve dataCount baggage being uploaded/unloaded during operationsOperate portable radio or headphonesConnect hoses to aircraftUse signaling devices to communicate with co-workers or flight crewEscort passengers and special needs customers safely and courteouslyEnsure compliance with SkyWest and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policiesOther duties as assignedMinimum RequirementsMust be at least 18 years oldMust possess a valid state issued driver’s licenseMust be eligible to obtain and maintain credentials necessary for the positionPosition-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs clearances requiredMust be able to pass a pre-placement background check and drug screenMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipPhysical and Other RequirementsAbility to lift heavy bags in excess of 60 pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodationMust be able to work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditionsAttend 4 days of Basic Station TrainingMust be able to work nights, weekends and holidaysMust be flexible to work split shifts including early mornings, afternoons, and evenings Please complete the on-line application.
