RDC Planning Manager

Job Description:

The Planning Manager position is responsible for the planning and execution of the annual facility budget for all non-capital expenditures. This person estimates the projection of volumes for the facility weekly and distributes costs attributed to labor resources, building supplies and miscellaneous expenses. The Planning Manager creates the staffing model for the year and monitors the staffing of contractual, seasonal and full time employees. This person also supervises a high performing team, and is capable of analyzing, planning and ensuring that product efficiently and effectively moves through the facility.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement and/or oversee new processes by Corporate

• Mentor subordinates for upward promotion

• Monitor inventory movements in the facility

• Organize special events for the facility (e.g., family day, excellence award celebrations)

• Take calls from stores requesting information or when issue has escalated

• Setup new store in the system

• Handle emergency demand of product to stores and ensure product is shipped

Required Qualifications:

• Proven record for complying with safety requirements, and ability to build a culture of safety among subordinates and peers

• Critical thinking skills

• Oral and written communication skills

• Experience creating and managing budgets; forecasting

• Analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems; creative problem-solving

• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience

• Successfully manages multiple tasks simultaneously

• Can make solid decisions quickly based on limited information

• Demonstrated team-building skills

• Ability to build rapport and trust with others

• Experience and willingness to mentor and coach others

• Ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts among team members

• Highly motivated to the team’s and facility’s success

• Approaches change optimistically; adjusts proficiently to changing work environments

• Copes positively in high-stress work environment

• Familiarity with distribution center operations; previous experience

• Basic computer skills

• College degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Situational Leadership II

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Access and/or DMS Lowe’s system
