Morgan Stanley is seeking a strong Java Developer to help build out our Structured Products automated pricing platform.

You will work closely with fellow Technologists, and our partners in Sales and Trading, Strategists and Financial Engineering to support products, pricing methodologies and tools, and generally improve automation, performance and time to market for technology changes for this key growth business area for the investment bank.

You will work within a highly focused tech team in New York, within a global technology department delivering for the main global trading areas: New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Beyond contributing to the functional aspects of the systems and business flows, a successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to improving the Technology platform and drive the systems towards a more rapid and robust development model across the tech stack to ultimately help the business sustain high volume and revenue growth.

This is a hands-on role with the expectation to own a change or project all the way from design/inception to delivery in production.

The local and global team will also support you in getting up to speed with the relevant knowledge areas and ultimately grow your career within an exciting tech division focused at helping the business stay a market leader.

Qualifications:

Skills Required:

- Experiences in core Java knowledge in a UNIX/Linux environment.

- Track record of complete lifecycle management including design, coding and delivery.

- Track record working with and managing multiple dependencies across systems and striving for development platform efficiency improvements.

Skills Desired:

- Experience in equity-linked products/derivatives is desirable but can be learnt within the team.

- Experience with Java/GC/Linux OS level debugging/performance tuning.

- kdb/q knowledge would also be an advantage but is not essential.

- Experience in testing automation.

- Interest and experience in metrics/analytics to take the understanding of the flows and pricing data to the next level with our businesses.
