Quality and Engineering Manager, Jostens','1800496','Texas-Denton','Newell Brands - Jostens','Full-time','!*!As our Quality and Engineering Manager you are a key leader for Jostens. In this role you will be responsible for the development and implementation of optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. You will develop and manage a CIP (Cost Improvement Plan) portfolio. Additional accountabilities: • Responds to related production problems, and pursues and implements remedies to such problems. • Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. • Responsible for costs, methods, operations, quality and quantity of production of all jewelry production. • Responsible for the effective execution and success of jewelry operational initiatives fulfilling defined strategic and operational plans. • Manages a portfolio of key initiatives, and leads cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, operations, marketing, and customer service to support such plans, using structured continuous improvement and project management methodologies. • Assist plant management team in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives. • Initiate and coordinate major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, engineering, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.). • Perform research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment and perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency • Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation • Develop, review and analyze quality reporting and data to determine trends, issues and areas for improvement • Work with mangers and their teams to ensure quality systems are sufficient to provide desired product quality levels • Provide quality reports to management at all levels to assist with business review and problem solving • Integrate quality systems and processes into the broader business strategy • Work with vendors to ensure that product materials meet all quality standards • Plan and oversee analysis, inspection, design, testing and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product • Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities ','!*!Required: • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent combination of education and job specific experience • 10 years’ relevant experience • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience in manufacturing/operations/systems/business processes • Experience delivering enterprise projects and/or business solutions • Experience in leadership, enabling high-performing cross-functional enterprise teams, building effective teams • Demonstrated operational expertise grounded in data driven analysis and decision making • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems with effective solutions • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of management and employees, quickly adapt and communicate, lead change management, drive performance • Lean manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma training and experience • Successful implementation of Lean Six Sigma projects • Process and Product Development • Up to 20 % travel may be required Preferred: • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or Business • MBA or other relevant advanced degree. • Lean Six Sigma Certification • Demonstrated understanding of Quality Systems • Experience in project management Celebrating 120 years of business, Jostens has been a part of local communities, working with K-12 schools, colleges and universities, teams and affiliation groups.
