Job Description
The Opportunity | Quality Assurance Engineer\r
The ideal candidate will play a key role in the Quality Assurance organization to ensure both customer and company quality requirements are met. Defines and develops quality standards for receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with customer contractual requirements. Reviews and evaluates complex in-process rejections and facilitates corrective action, as needed. Interfaces with customers, vendors and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide information. Participates in and may lead audits and provides leadership to lower level employees.\r
Duties & Responsibilities:\r
Performs assigned responsibilities in planning and implementing quality assurance programs on customer orders. This includes but is not limited to: \r
Inspection plans, measurement methods and recording forms\r
Quality Assurance systems, methods, and procedures\r
Statistical methods to control and evaluate process capabilities, where applicable\r
Development of quality assurance data packages for customer review\r
Coordinates quality activities with customers, suppliers, and third-party oversight bodies as necessary. Reviews and evaluates contractual requirements in specifications and drawings with specific attention to quality requirements.\r
Provides leadership in acquiring and implementing improved QA techniques and processes and makes key processes visible.\r
Serves as the key process owner and monitor for processes within the scope of area of specific responsibility.\r
Improves and creates standardized quality processes.\r
Ensures 100% quality and regulatory compliance in accordance with documented procedures for all aspects of functional responsibility.\r
Provides subject matter expertise while interacting with internal and external customers as well as suppliers by meeting regularly, responding to requests, and resolving issues as they may arise.\r
Assists other departments as necessary in establishing standards relative to ensuring product quality.\r
Reviews and approves drawings, routings, specifications, procedures and similar documents related to assigned projects. Prepares and provides detailed quality assurance inputs to such documents.\r
Translates customer, regulatory, and code requirements into manufacturing routers.\r
Reviews, revises or writes inspection procedures.\r
Performs internal process surveillances and internal audits.\r
Reviews, evaluates, and answers customer correspondence.\r
Supports in-process Hold/Witness Points at facility.\r
Participates in the preparation and maintenance of quality program manuals and related department and divisional procedures.\r
Reviews and evaluates in-process rejections, obtains disposition, evaluates root causes, and implements corrective action when needed.\r
Prepares project quality plans\r
Identifies potential project quality issues\r
Experience in planning and implementing quality assurance programs\r
BS Engineering or equivalent\r
Demonstrated strong attention to details\r
Excellent communication skills\r
Nuclear Power Industry or Nuclear Navy experience is an asset\r
Must be US Citizen and able to obtain DOD security clearance\r
Prefer experience in: \r
Manufacturing environment\r
Regulated Industries (e.g., food, aerospace, transportation, biotech)\r
Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt / Master Black Belt certifications\r
ASQ Certifications\r
Lead Auditor certification\r
