Public Relations Director; Wells Fargo Asset Management (Communications Senior Manager) - Military veterans preferred

Job Description This position reports to the head of Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM) communications and leads a team of 2 direct reports. He/she will focus on devising, executing and leading a media relations and public relations strategy to promote the asset management business and the executive management team to external audiences both within the United States and abroad. This leader is integral to advancing the transformation at Wells Fargo Asset Management that is already underway through the design and execution of a strategic communication plan that aims to capitalize on news cycles, trends and through the promotion of thought leadership. In addition, a key part of this leader\u2019s role is to connect external storytelling and messaging to the internal communications strategy. This position is located at 525 Market Street in San Francisco, CA. Specific responsibilities include: Create a master WFAM narrative that draws on the collective attributes of the business and promotes areas of strength and expertise in a creative way Develop and implement strategic communications plan for the promotion of the WFAM business to target media Promote the thought leadership produced by different areas of the business, such as papers and/or proprietary research Identify proactive external engagements to advance storytelling and best position executives and company Seek opportunities to connect the external story telling effort to internal channels thus ensuring that team members hear the same story that is told to media Serve as a trusted and strategic counselor on messaging, reputation and issues management, media relations, and crisis communications Track and measure results of plan to ensure that results are in line with intended outcomes and business objectives Develop and maintain solid working relationships with key national print and broadcast journalists Develop strategic responses to media inquiries and provide heads-up notifications to leaders as appropriate Partner with other Corporate Communications teams and across other business lines of Wells Fargo to ensure coordination, consistency, and efficiency of resources
The Wells Fargo Asset Management Communications team is part of the broader Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) communications team. Required Qualifications
10 years of communications experience in one or more of the following disciplines: public relations, media relations or corporate communications
4 years of management experience
Other Desired Qualifications Experience developing integrated communications strategies and plans that align with business objectives Experience prepping and counseling senior executives for high profile/high stakes media interviews Experience presenting information in a manner that persuades, educates, and enhances understanding at all levels Experience developing compelling content and leveraging multiple channels for creative storytelling Experience leading, high-performing geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams within a matrix organization Experience building strong relationships and collaborating across large organizations MBA or advanced degree in Communications
