Project Manager Georgia Pacific is seeking a qualified Project Manager for the Monticello, Mississippi – Monticello Containerboard Mill.  Our open position is one of a five-member Project Engineering Team, which reports to the Engineering Leader.  The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual and display personal ownership of Safety, Manufacturing, and Operational initiatives while working effectivity in a Team Environment to create the greatest long-term value for GP. Georgia-Pacific creates long-term value by using resources efficiently to provide innovative products and solutions that meet the needs of customers and society, while operating in a manner that is environmentally and socially responsible, and economically sound. Responsible for all aspects of project execution at the facility Works closely with other project managers, process control engineers, maintenance, and outside contractors to execute successful projects on time and on budget Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills Support mill compliance with laws and regulations by ensuring 10,000% compliance in design & implementation of projects at the facility Drive safety in design culture for all improvement projects Ensure employee and contractor compliance with mill safety policies Support manufacturing and maintenance activities with engineering. principals, expertise, and leadership in solving and improving the processes and procedures in the facility Work with Operations and Maintenance to identify new potential projects and develop capital funding requests Work with purchasing to obtain bids and conduct value analysis, as well as cost estimates and budgets Initiates purchase requisitions or contracts for equipment, labor and materials Manage projects requiring coordination between outside consultants, contractors, and mill personnel Assist in checkout and start-up activities, conducts post-completion audits of capital and repair projects Understand and practice Market Based Management (MBM®) through daily work and management of projects
What You Will Need: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or related project management field Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated project management experience Experience in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project Effective communication skills (preparing project documents, presentations skills, etc.)
What Will Put You Ahead? Preferred Qualifications:
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree Worked in the Utilities department in a manufacturing facility as an engineer, planner, or supervisor Knowledge of the Passport Asset Suite CMMS system Experience in Pulp and Paper industry
