JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The resource is responsible for creating, maintaining  and managing project schedules utilizing components of Primavera 6 and other Oracle products such as OBIEE, Analytics, and  Unifier.

 Individual is responsible for the participating and at times leading work team environments. Work in team environments with project managers and other project support functions such as Portfolio Managers, engineering, environmental, right of way agents, vegetation, Regulator/legal and others as require or instructed by management.

The Project Controls Specialist works in unison with the Portfolio Managers and Project Managers orchestrating, communicating, implementation of the Stage Gate/SG Lite processes; as well as with the change management process.  

Create and manage dissemination of Project Control reports, maintenance, updating metrics and analysis of project schedules and man-hour/cost budgets versus actual and committed values, progress measurement, forecasted man-hours/costs at completion, management of change, cost estimating, and issuing reports to the Project Team, Project Manager, and management as required. cost control, cost estimating and cash flow evaluation,

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Promotes safe and healthy behavior with adherence to the safety rules on the project. Leads the project team to establish leading indicators and proactive requirements while ensuring safety is considered in all aspects of project execution.

Setting up the control systems for the project to record, maintain and report original and current schedules, budgets, pending/approved/rejected change orders and budget transfers, actual spend, estimate-to-complete, estimate-at-completion amounts, and their variances against control budgets, and work progress and productivity values.

Gathering, consolidating, producing, and incorporating into reports, all required cost, schedule, management of change, progress and performance data and charts, and ensuring they are current and accurate, including revising the schedule to reflect actual progress, and issue reports as required and on-time.

Analyzing anticipated, as well as current, situations to proactively focus management's attention on known or potential areas of concern. Additional duties include tracking and incorporating out of scope work activities, securing client approval for progress payments, assisting in the generation and review of invoices, and maintaining an invoice log and change order log.

Provides clear, timely and accurate project status reports for management. Prepares reports and presentations to management. Prepares and issues status reports as needed. Identifies, makes timely decisions and takes prompt action on project issues that could impact project performance. Promptly communicates issues to the next level of leadership that are outside the authority or capability to resolve.

Coordinates with all functional departments as required to successfully execute the requirements of the applicable corporate standards and process, to achieve project budget and timeline, and interacts with Supply Chain to ensure timely project and contract information flows to the Project Managers. Monitors contractor performance in the area of project safety, schedule, cost, quality of work and compliance with contractual requirements. Delivers projects with cost and schedule certainty; manages and controls costs; manages risk by identifying and mitigating risks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED OF THE POSITION

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OF THE POSITION

0-5 years experience in Distribution, Substation or Transmission required.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED OF THE POSITION

History of safe performance, active safety involvement and participation and strong desire for a safer workplace. Solid background in planning and scheduling, cost control, estimating, construction planning and management of change processes. Solid background and working knowledge of Primavera P6 with experience and ability to effectively and efficiently use it.

ANY CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, ETC. REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION

PMP certification; Certified  Oracle University Primavera Specialist , P6 EPPM, Oracle University Certified General Product Support Specialist
