As part of our team, your opportunities are limitless. In addition to the valuable skills gained through training and on-the-job experience, MasTec offers competitive pay, including medical, vision and dental coverage, 401K and employee stock discounts. We are currently seeking a/an Project Controls Manager to join our dynamic Team in the Bay Area supporting a major telecommunications infrastructure project. Job Summary The Project Controls Manager must be able to participate in a cross-functional team environment in development and oversight of construction related project controls tasks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ·        Provide cost control and Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling support while managing a staff of Schedulers, Cost Controls, Change Controls and Document Controls.·        Implement project planning processes to include considerations of project set-up, execution, monitoring and closeout. This will require development and tracking of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).·        Ensure the project schedule reflects the entire project scope and that tasks are linked in a logical relationship sequence.·        Work with cross-functional team members to ensure the project is on-time and on-budget.·        Assist in development and implementation of project controls process, procedures, systems and tools to support project execution.·        Review, analyze project monthly cost reports and offer guidance and explanations for change.·        Interpret monthly cost analysis to forecast projects on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.·        Ensure project controls procedures are implemented, and adhered to, and result in no audit exceptions when audited both internally/externally or by Clients.·        Provide leadership ability to guide, mentor and motivate the career development of others while providing accurate and consistent project controls advice to the General Manager and staff.·        Have an understanding of Federal, State, local and company safety policies and assist in the continued development of a Safety Culture in the workplace.','!*!REQUIREMENTS ·        Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management or Engineering, appropriate certifications also accepted;·        10 years of experience in project controls and the utility construction industry in lieu of degree;·        Ability to use computers and computer software for communication, planning/scheduling, budgeting and forecasting;·        High level of analytical thinking skills to plan and forecast work;·        Positive history of leadership and communication (written and verbal);·        Proven history of working in a cross-functional environment providing accurate data to team members to ensure forecasted project delivery;·        An understanding of CPM to ensure, and communicate, timely delivery of milestone tasks;·        Must be self-motivated. PREFERENCES·        MasTec prefers, but does not require, that candidates have experience in the local area;·        Candidates with certifications received through PMI or other similar organizations focused on recognition of expertise in Project Management.Don’t miss this great opportunity! All applicants must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.  Benefits available include Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life insurance, a 401k plan and Employee Stock Purchase plan. MasTec is a publically traded company MTZ (NYSE). MasTec, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
