Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor manages and coordinates the activities of production personnel engaged in manufacturing beverage products for storage & shipment, including providing leadership and direction to team members inside the Aspers, Pennsylvania manufacturing plant.

Position Schedule

This is a full time permanent position. Typical work days average between 9 and 10 hours in length and may require occasional Saturdays.  Candidates can expect that there may be requirements to work beyond the standard 40 hour work week and varying shifts based on business needs.

Position Responsibilities

1.    Direct and coach production operators in the execution of daily/weekly production schedules for multiple packaging lines.

2.    Drive the continuous improvement agenda in area of responsibility. Maintain/develop lean daily management tools.

3.    Incorporate and maintain safety, including use of all personal protective equipment by employees, ensuring equipment guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.

4.    Ensure team understands roles and responsibilities as it relates to core accountabilities, including safety, quality, productivity and delivery.

5.    Communicate goals and objectives, apply company policy, train staff, coach, recommend salary increases, administer discipline, insure positive employee relations and review the performance of employees. Build bench strength through active development of direct reports.

6.    Manage all operating budgets with regards to maintenance, labor, over time and temporary employees.

7.    Complete and update all necessary production paperwork and records.

8.    Review and analyze production records to identify opportunities for improvement.

9.    Make recommendations for long term solutions, including recommendations for replacing equipment, refurbishing equipment, procedural changes, productivity improvement, material change, etc., related to the area of accountability.

10. Manage and facilitate employee and management relationship within the guidelines of a labor contract and/or company policy.

11. Assist Plant Manager and Operations Manager as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field OR a High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) with commensurate supervisory experience

Knowledge of lean manufacturing / six sigma techniques

Experience with food safety and general labor regulations

Knowledge of SAP or similar production planning applications

Lift, push and pull a minimum of  60lbs repeatedly
