We are currently recruiting for a Production Planner/Scheduler for Dixie in Darlington, SC. As a Production Planner/Scheduler, you will be creating and executing machine production schedules to support the business demand and optimize efficient changeovers. If you are a self-motivated individual with great time management and problem solving skills, this may be the job for you!
 
The Darlington Dixie facility is a continuous operation with over 400 employees that manufactures the Dixie® cold and hot cups in addition to plates and bowls. Darlington, SC is a historic town with beautiful parks, a downtown public square and a number of recreation opportunities. Darlington is close to Myrtle Beach and Charleston, SC in addition to Southeastern cities such as Charlotte and Raleigh, NC. Nearby Colleges and Universities to Darlington include Clemson, Florence-Darlington Technical College, and University of South Carolina.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

Create and execute finite machine production schedules

Ensure production plans are communicated

Work closely with Operations to make sure there is adequate coverage for set production schedule. Working through any issues and alerting Operations of changes with sufficient notice

Update production schedule as product is produced and production runs are added

Update production run dates in SAP to maintain accurate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) data

Order materials to support the planned production on assigned assets

Material management, to include the confirmation of in-house or on time delivery of materials

Work with vendors and/or receiving to move raw material inbound loads to meet production schedule

Initiate and manage the New Item form as new business is acquired

Compile customer specific inventory reports upon request

What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:

A minimum of four (4) years of experience in production planning and/or scheduling OR in lieu of experience, obtained or completing a Bachelor’s degree or higher within the next 12 months in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering

Experience in Microsoft Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)

What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:

Five (5) years or more experience in supply chain (including planning, scheduling, raw material, procurement, receiving, and shipping)

Experience in a paper converting operation doing production planning

Experience in a MRP system

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

Effective verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated decision making, analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently
Strong sense of urgency, initiative, and the ability to self-motivate
The ability to drive and adapt to change
