PRODUCTION MANAGER - ANNEALING PRIMARY DUTIES Manage the activities of the Annealing department, consisting of more than one sub-team, with consideration for the goals and objectives of the organization. Develops goals and objectives for the department that are aligned with those of the larger manufacturing organization. Develop, define, and lead the implementation of plans, actions, and measurements to meet department goals. Measure and evaluate execution of the plans and make appropriate adjustments to meet the aligned goals and objectives. Maintain knowledge of the existing manufacturing systems including the computer systems, steel making processes, material flow and handling schemes, quality systems, and process control techniques. Evaluate and recommend new equipment, and process and maintenance technologies Define and communicate performance expectations for staff and coach and counsel them in the performance of job responsibilities. Develop and manage departmental budget. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Four year college degree or demonstrated equivalent experience as determined by department management. Two or more years' experience at a lower level manager position or Manufacturing Engineer position. Ability to apply business and management expertise to achieve financial and operational objectives within or across departments. Ability to develop departmental plans including business, production and/or organizational priorities. Knowledge of the existing manufacturing systems including the computer systems, steel making processes, material flow and handling schemes, quality systems, and process control techniques. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions. Ability to direct and supervise others, objectively evaluate performance, and train and develop others.
