Product Marketing Manager

Essential Functions/Duties

: •Develop and execute a comprehensive market segment and product category strategy for each assigned category and segment. As part of the strategy, develop the core positioning and messaging for each assigned market segment and product category. •Analyze product performance, product competitiveness, and product trends in the marketplace and develop strategies for assigned products based upon research and analysis. •Conduct market research and customer interviews to identify technology and innovation trends in the assigned market segments. Monitor market segment trends and identify opportunities for new products and services. Understand customer needs in the market by visiting customers. •Coordinate and maintain a complete competitive analysis by market segment and product category: including feature-benefit analysis, product performance comparison, market positioning, and price positioning. •Perform market segmentation analysis for each assigned segment: identify market size, prepare and maintain the competitive landscape and assess fit with the Superior Essex North American Magnet Wire objectives. •Develop and maintain product development roadmaps for the assigned market segments and product lines. •Lead new product development projects for assigned market segments from ideation through launch following the Superior Essex NAMW new product introduction process. •Proactively research and understand root causes of New Product Introduction launch delays and revenue gaps. Concisely communicate action plans to prevent recurrence and close gaps. Demonstrate the ability to work closely with sales and engineering to complete those action plans. •Develop go-to-market strategies for new products. Plan the launch of new products, develop product literature and manage the cross-functional implementation of the product launch plan. •In collaboration with direct sales team and pricing team, develop pricing strategy to balance profit margins with customer satisfaction and meet revenue goals. •Establish strong relationships with direct sales teams and distribution sales channel to validate product positioning & pricing and product specification and selection tools. •Coordinate all elements of marketing communications for assigned market segments and product categories. Collaborate with the Marketing Specialist and other Product Marketing Managers to execute a well-coordinated plan. •Coordinate development and deployment of sales training materials to support new product introductions and existing product lines, including value-selling material. •Build and maintain strong relationships with technical and new product development personnel within strategic customers to identify new product or technology opportunities at the earliest opportunity. •Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED knowledge/skills/abilities and other minimum qualifications

: •Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science (Mechanical, Electrical, or Metallurgical preferred) •7-10 years of experience managing product lines or developing products and applications for manufacturers of industrial products. Experience with industrial motors or transformers preferred. •Experience in successfully supporting direct sales teams with business insights, sales tools, product specification/selection materials, training, and product presentations. •Experience in creating and executing product marketing campaigns and new product launch plans. •Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. • Ability to effectively present information to top management, customers, and vendors. •Independent thinking is required as well as resilience, passion, and high-energy. •Must demonstrate strong problem solving skills and analytical skills • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. •Ability to effectively and efficiently manage and keep projects on-track. •Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. •Ability to build and maintain relationships. Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
