You are responsible for

Serving as a Procurement Link within cross-functional teams

Driving concept savings in released product and new product development in close cooperation with Engineering, Marketing, Quality, and Supply Chain Management

Ensuring early supplier involvement

Participating in Design for Excellence (DfX) conventions for the assigned business

Providing should-cost assessments for released products and newly proposed products

Driving request for quotation process based on the Forward Procurement List

Driving the Supplier Selection Process together with the Supplier Quality / Commodity Management Teams

Ensuring that the Procurement Engineering related risks (cost, quality, availability) are controlled and mitigated

Supporting Supplier Quality in the material qualification process, including compliance aspects

Supporting the in/outsourcing process (e.g. knowledge transfer, supplier ramp-up)

Providing input to the Commodity Management Teams regarding the supply base characteristics, based on business requirements

Identifying opportunities in released products and the new product design process, through target costing and managing cost drivers/data sources

You are a part of

Global Procurement Engineering team within the SRC business of the Philips organization. You are responsible for driving product innovation and cultivating an environment of engagement and improvement.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

Bachelor degree in Engineering/Science or relevant disciplines; MBA is preferable

Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience

Experience with injection molding and assembly is highly preferred

Proven track record in successfully collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams in a global environment with minimal supervision (Designers, Engineers, Marketing, Quality & Regulatory, Supplier Quality and Purchasing)

High level of proficiency in technical, manufacturing, and business disciplines; specific areas of expertise include: quote analytics, tooling/molding, supplier capacity analysis, applying statistical methods (e.g. Six Sigma), process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), DFM / FMEA, Contracting, Sourcing, Negotiating, Supply Chain Analysis

Experience in researching new industry technologies, to deliver improved product solutions and reduce costs

Strong Project Management skillset including experience leading multiple cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, multi-national manufacturing environment

Knowledge leader regarding costing tools (e.g., Should Cost Models, Total Cost of Ownership, Net Present Value, etc.)

Assertive, independent, fast learner and able to build good rapport with suppliers

Up to 20% travel required

Procurement Engineering represents Procurement in the Sleep & Respiratory Care (SRC) Business, has in-depth understanding of the “End-to-End” product context, and is responsible for delivering on Business Procurement strategies, including the utilization of Design-for-Excellence.
