We are seeking a Procurement Commodity Manager who will have the following duties and responsibilities:
 
Interiors Commodity Manager       
Managing all Purchasing activities, from concept phase through new product introduction, for your assigned components, for all new programs / changed parts to ensure business goals and objectives are met. This includes sourcing and quoting per the CMT strategy to meet cost expectations not only in piece cost but also tooling, logistics and packaging. Managing supplier readiness is critical in this role to ensure that implementation timing aligns with expectations and / or business needs. This is a highly visible, very challenging and rewarding position in a supportive, fast paced environment. As a PCM you will be on the leading edge of New Product Development.
Responsibilities include:

Being the liaison between the New Program teams and the CMT\u2019s (Category Management Teams)
Manage tight deadlines in a high volume, fast paced environment.
Interact with vendors and cross functional teams to source products, per the CMT strategy, that meet both the cost and timing expectations of the program.
Analyze product costs, understand underlying cost drivers and implement cost reduction initiatives to maximize savings
Negotiate all aspects of cost, piece price, tooling, packaging etc., to ensure best cost to Navistar
Drive purchasing initiatives that ensure parts are sourced and on contract within the specified time.
Build and manage relationships with cross-functional teams, vendors and management.
Create readiness plans with suppliers and visit suppliers as needed.
Anticipate potential problems, be proactive and manage changes to ensure projects are on time and within budget.
Open and frequent communication on program status, for your commodity, to both the Program Teams and CMT\u2019s.

Position Purpose and Requirements
Performs supply chain and logistics functions, such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution.  Creates integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics) and outside suppliers.  Responsibilities are within the Supply Chain Management function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines. 

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

OR

Master's degree and at least 3 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

OR

At least 7 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

Additional Requirements

Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills:

Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Familiarity with commercial truck and bus products and components desirable.
Familiarity with Interior Trim components
A strong understanding of Procurement.
Excellent project management, organizational and communication skills
Ability to analyze product costs and understand underlying cost drivers.
Negotiation experience
Ability to anticipate and solve problems, prioritize workloads and shift resources as needed.
