Position Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership for Plant 84 in driving improvement in all critical business areas, including Safety, Quality, Cost and Production. Effectively lead and ensure productivity, quality, and cost initiatives are executed. Provide leadership for process improvement and project engineering initiatives.


Work with Plant / Department Manager(s) to improve manufacturing processes through efficiency improvements, safety, and quality.

Responsible for facility accounting including the budgets, POVA, cost estimates, production standards, variance projections/explanations and inventories.

Coach/Train/Develop Managers, Supervisors, Engineers and Co-ops at facility to assist them with identifying and implementing of any projects applicable to Process improvement (utilizing tools of “Operational Excellence” including but not limited to Six Sigma, Lean, TPM, etc. as the primary drivers of continuous improvement).

Manage department by delegating projects, setting goals, monitoring, and giving feedback of performance, and using training where applicable.

Prioritize assignments and allocate resources accordingly.

Analyze systems and procedures to determine the most effective and efficient methods.

Collect, analyze, and make recommendations through the use of reports, observations, frequency checks, and time studies to make improvements on existing systems or create new systems.

Oversee inventories of raw materials, WIP, & packaging materials; Sarbanes Oxley training and audits; Records Management system.

Must be able to prepare capital & expense project proposals (requires CPM training) for new equipment, modifications and upgrades, including calculating savings and EVA.

Prepare capital project budget list for the plant on an annual basis.

Responsible for overseeing plant capacity and making proposals necessary to keep up with changes in demand.

Conduct time studies as needed in the various manufacturing areas.

Responsible for optimizing flow of materials / product through the plant. Assist in layout changes for the plant or any departments within the plant.

Participate in SMS as required/needed;

Must be proficient in spreadsheet software (Excel);

Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and work without close supervision.

Must present information in a professional and user friendly package;

Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills;

Perform additional duties and special projects as requested.

4-year degree and Black belt training and/or certification

Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience

Good understanding of company processes and procedures

Experience in recommending solutions and generating supporting business case.

Crystal, FoxPro, ?Webi, AQT applications, Business Objects, Excel/Google Spread sheets

Work Shift

8 hour, day shift
