The Principal - Learning & Development position is responsible for the development and execution of sales-facing strategic programs within the Training business unit. Individual will have overall responsibility for the development and execution of Flight Plan for Windstream’s sales organizations including Windstream Enterprise, Windstream Wholesale, and CSMB. Corporate large scale training deployment and project management expertise is required for this role.

The explicit goals of Flight Plan are to equip sales professionals with the core information, knowledge, skills, tools and resources they need to be successful at Windstream; compress learning ramp time; align and connect all training efforts with the business and with each other; and increase overall productivity. This is not simply a training program, it is a field-owned process that includes learning components, field activities, real-world conversations, research and the demonstration of proficiency.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Focus on strategic objectives around the transformation of the employee onboarding process and alignment with organizational change

Act as the point of interface for all of Flight Plan including but not limited to:

o Processes

o Stream management

o Coordination and facilitation of Simulation Labs

o Coordination of all live sessions including

Ground School live sessions # Faculty engagements # Director Check ins Phase 3 live sessions including Cohort Check Ins Coordination of conversion of live sessions to online classes

Subject matter expert for Learning & Development as it relates to Flight Plan

o Coordination of Flight Plan expansion into all Business Units

o Coordination of additional learning requests to be implemented into Flight Plan as appropriate

o Direct resource for all Flight Plan Pilots and Flight Directors and Flight Plan leadership

o Provide faculty facilitation during Simulation Labs and other Live Sessions as needed

o Provide expertise into development and delivery of Phase 3 training needs

o Be a direct resource as required for all Flight Plan Pilots, Flight Directors, and Flight Plan leadership

Support operational process standards, support, and improvement

Program Management of all Flight Plan curriculum, coursework, live sessions

Program Management of all Simulation Lab components including

o On-site Single Point of Contact

o Coordination of materials to be used in Sim Lab (Electronic and Paper)

o Coordination of Faculty

o Coordination of Sim Lab facility and technology

Identify and rationalize data integrity / analysis / resolution best practices

Responsible for accurate and timely reporting to all stakeholders

Minimum Requirements:

College degree and 8 years professional level experience with 3-4 years supervisory experience; or 12 years professional level related experience with 3-4 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related experience desired.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

5 years program management of complex, rapidly developing and changing projects (/Must have large scale project management experience)/

5 years formal classroom facilitation

Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel.

Position will require periodic overnight travel up to 5 nights at a time to oversee and manage the Simulation Lab.

Extensive background and skill in managing complex projects from start to finish

Extensive background in classroom facilitation and management

Extensive background in results (outcome) based curriculum development

Able to work in a swiftly changing environment and capable of thinking on their feet and implementing changes to curriculum and structure often real-time

/Position can be located in any major Windstream market with sales presence. Preferred locations Chicago, Charlotte, Denver, Little Rock or Rochester./
