The Principal Associate will work in partnership with line of business and internal and external stakeholder groups to create and implement strategies and grant investments that:-align with our Future Edge platform-serve the community and-deliver business returns including CRA, business development, and reputationPrimary Responsibilities-Corporate Grant Making -Establish and manage a portfolio of grant partnerships that maximize and meet targets for CRA, reputation, and business development-Create and balance a portfolio of grants that responds to the company's Future Edge strategy and the business' CRA strategy-Evaluate grantee performance, outcomes and return on philanthropic investments-Partner closely with the Associate Engagement team to ensure that grants are supporting the delivery of our volunteer goals as defined by the business and CRA targets-Collaborate and coordinate with other grant makers across Community Affairs that are supporting other lines of business and/or in markets-Key Stakeholder Relations-Collaborate with line of business and corporate partner teams (including but not limited to CRA Compliance, Community Development Banking, Community Finance, Corporate Communications, Marketing, Brand, Human Resources, etc.) to achieve goals-Identify and sustain mutually productive relationships with key community leaders and connect associates and executives as appropriate Represent Capital One in the community through networking, public speaking, and event attendanceOperational Excellence including the management of multiple budgets, meeting quarterly forecast projections, leverage grant rubric and ensuring grant applicants provide appropriate documentation.Ensure that grants are 'CRA review-ready' when they are approvedMaintain effective and efficient best practices in process, problem solving and decision-makingThe Team Member we are looking for will have:-An authentic, optimistic, fun, innovative, resilient, collaborative and open-minded personality-Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills-Excellent EQ skills including the ability to influence and comfortably interact with senior executives, community leaders, associates, and client groups-A deep knowledge and understanding of trends in economic opportunity, CSR, quality nonprofit programming and philanthropy; ability to clearly and comfortably communicate value and ROI related to grant making-Significant organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects and activities with a wide variety and volume of partners while managing change, conflicts and/or shifting priorities-Substantial analytical skills with a keen instinct on how to gather and interpret meaningful data-Powerful partnership building and relationship management skills-Corroborated experience in achieving 'win-win,' measurable outcomes through corporate-community partnerships-First-rate networking skills with a talent to naturally build and maintain relationships at all levels and strategically leverage relationships appropriately-A working knowledge of Community Reinvestment ActBasic Qualifications:-Bachelor's Degree OR military experience-At least 2 years of experience in community relations or At least 2 years of experience in program management or At least 2 years of experience in grant making OR At least 2 years of combined experience in community relations, grant making, and program managementPreferred Qualifications:-Bachelor's Degree, preferably in CSR, business, public relations, communications or related field-Financial Services experience-3 years of experience in community relations and grant making-Strong working knowledge of the Louisiana community; work experience in the State of LouisianaAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.,educationRequirements:New Orleans-St CharlesDU Br385 (37385), United States of America, New Orleans, LouisianaAt Capital One, we’re building a leading information-based technology company.
