Our team is looking for a senior business development leader to drive the go-to-market for AWS Greengrass. AWS Greengrass is software that lets you run local compute, messaging, data caching, sync, and ML inference capabilities for connected devices in a secure way. With AWS Greengrass, connected devices can run AWS Lambda functions, keep device data in sync, and communicate with other devices securely \u2013 even when not connected to the Internet. Using AWS Lambda, Greengrass ensures your IoT devices can respond quickly to local events, use Lambda functions running on Greengrass Core to interact with local resources, operate with intermittent connections, stay updated with over the air updates, and minimize the cost of transmitting IoT data to the cloud. ML Inference is a feature of AWS Greengrass that makes it easy to perform machine learning inference locally on Greengrass Core devices using models that are built and trained in the cloud. AWS Greengrass seamlessly extends AWS to devices so they can act locally on the data they generate, while still using the cloud for management, analytics, and durable storage. With Greengrass, you can use familiar languages and programming models to create and test your device software in the cloud, and then deploy it to your devices In this role your key responsibilities will include:

Strategic Oversight Of The Go-To-Market Plan. Help define the market segments, customer base, and industry verticals we can target. Set a strategic business development plan for target markets and ensure it's in line with the AWS strategic direction. Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, etc.).
Coordinate The Incubation and Launch of New Services or Key Features. As we launch new services, be a part of the core team that works with the initial customers to ensure we have strong references at launch. Drive a plan to ensure sales and partner readiness. Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings.
Work With Lighthouse Customer and Partners. Build a strong pipeline of customers who are working in key areas of the market or building new and interesting solutions. Work with these customers to become lighthouse wins of success.
Strategic Business Development - Focus on complex deals and develop long-term strategic partnerships in support of our key markets.
The ideal candidate will have a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the executive level, as well as a technical background to work with both our engineering teams and customers building solutions with our tools. An understanding of key IoT concepts and technologies, especially at the edge is required. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.
Basic Qualifications

5 years of cloud, technical or digital business development experience
Strong presentation, sales, and negotiation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at the C level.
Excellent written communication skills
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills
Demonstrated effectiveness working across multiple business units to achieve results
Ability to prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team
Comfortable negotiating contracts
Experience in working with customers (particularly enterprise) who are deploying cloud solutions.
Meticulous attention to detail: ability to juggle many tasks in parallel without lowering your quality bar

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with IoT technologies and Solutions.
Understanding of cloud technologies.
Track record of closing high value and high profile deals
Proven ability to prospect, recruit, and manage executive level relationships
Excellent business judgement and the demonstrated ability to think and act both strategically and tactically
Strong ownership and bias for action; ability to internalize goals and work independently to create appropriate action plans for those goals
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and business organization
