The United IT team designs, develops and maintains massively scaling technology solutions that are brought to life with innovative architectures, data analytics and digital solutions.

Job overview and responsibilities

Provide architectural vision to appropriately align IT to strategic business needs and goals. Apply knowledge of the business operations, strategies, priorities and information requirements to establish the technical direction and an enterprise view. Define enterprise level strategies and technical direction. Define the system, technical, and application architectures. Ensure best practices are adhered to. Research, evaluate, and select from existing and emerging technologies that best fit RM business and IT strategic needs. Manage multi-project management accountabilities in developing solutions in a collaborative environment. Oversee the design and delivery for new or improved technologies that are used across multiple areas of the business. Architect solutions across multiple hardware/software computing environments and system components. Plan and implement process re-engineering or process improvement.

Required

Bachelors degree, preferably in Information Technology or Business or equivalent experience, education, or training

Five years applicable experience in business, information or technology architecture OR Two years applicable experience in enterprise architecture

This position requires a data architect to partner with a team of technical experts, consultants in leading cutting-edge technologies including APS/PDW, Power BI etc. to provide and implement solutions. • Architect, design and develop roadmap and implement data solutions which impact the Business bottom line and results. • Provide technical presentations, demonstrations and help execute technical proof of concepts with the data layer employed in the data warehouse and BI architecture. • Provide architecture guidance, support and analysis with data platform solutions including analytics (Big Data, BI and Advanced Analytics) and mission critical solutions. • Maintain and develop a positive working environment Customer experience. • Strong negotiation, organizational, presentation, product demo, written, and verbal communication skills • Proven experience engaging with senior level executives preferred • Highly driven person who consistently exceeds goals and expectations • Able to work cohesively with members of the team and consultants • Broad knowledge of and ability to explain key end-user scenarios and technical architecture in the data platform space • Demonstrated knowledge of identity, authentication, security, privacy, and compliance and how they factor into cloud and hybrid solutions preferred • Understand cloud deployment and adoption planning • Enterprise-scale experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations and management of technology in the data stack. • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies • Ability to manage Microsoft PDW/APS servers by working with platform engineers and vendors to design BAR Server (Backup & Recovery), upgrade to the latest version of the platform, apply hotfixes, windows updates and security patches. • Ability to capacity planning, Database-sizing, Disaster recovery testing/implementation. • Expected to actively partner with Microsoft on product bug fixes and provide insights for future product enhancements with the MS product team and administer the servers with minimum downtime. • Ability to manage workload balancing in PDW, setup PDW databases (user databases & staging), database sizing/resizing, Server level security & database level security. • Ability to build standard operational procedures for PDW usage, find worst performing queries/loads, analyze the query plans, system logs at server/node level & find the root cause and tune the queries • Ability to create and maintain cubes and have insight on dimensional modeling. • Five years applicable experience in business, information or technology architecture • Two years applicable experience in enterprise architecture • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

Masters degree.

Professional at least 10 years of related experience in technical implementation or technical consulting roles

Demonstrated knowledge of identity, authentication, security, privacy, and compliance and how they factor into cloud and hybrid solutions
