Position Summary and Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position liaises with Field Service/RA, Operations, Project Management and Engineering in the development and execution of six sigma initiatives to improve the quality of TOG products and post delivery services. The Post Delivery Quality Engineer (PDQE) will conduct audits of TOG installations/products on-site and/or at customer sites - assessing and documenting opportunities to improve safety, quality, and product/service offering to enhance customer satisfaction. The PDQE will lead/manage root cause analysis (RCA) and investigation of service difficulties including product failure. He/she must demonstrate strong commitment to continuous improvement and proven ability to resolve complex problems while adding value and recognizing significant cost savings to the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct audits of TOG installations/products on-site and/or at customer sites - assessing and documenting opportunities to improve safety, quality, and product/service offering to enhance customer satisfaction.

Establish, maintain, and monitor progress on various Post Delivery six sigma initiatives. Conduct periodic project reviews, and update TOG management on deployment progress and results.

Lead/manage root cause analysis (RCA) and investigation of service difficulties, escapes and product failure. Hold periodic meetings to review disposition and analysis of warranty returns and initiate formal failure investigation as needed.

Establish, maintain and monitor progress on formal investigations via TOG SharePoint portal. Provides periodic updates to TOG management.

Analyze relevant data and facts to identify opportunities and true root causes in order to drive process and product improvement.

Track and analyze the Price of Nonconformance (PoNC) costs – identifying opportunities, addressing root causes with detailed CAPA and follow up as required.

Promote and implement “Zero-defect” quality methodologies.

Work with management to ensure best practices are shared across the organization.

Investigate quality problems and recommend corrective actions. Conduct risk assessments to determine priority and level of actions.

Quality Representative to the Design Review process. Review new product documents for quality requirements and potential impact on serviceability and/or usability.

Train and develop personnel in team building, RCA, six sigma and problem solving.


Education and Experience

Experienced Six Sigma Black Belt practitioner with proven track record implementing value-added solutions and programs – realizing cost savings, improving margins while enhancing customer satisfaction.

Minimum BS degree in a technical discipline; BSME/BSEE preferred.

Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in an ISO manufacturing environment – electrical, fiber optic and/or regulated industries preferred.

Quality engineering background with ASQ and/or Six Sigma certifications is highly desired; examples: SSBB/CQE/CRE/CQA.

Experience in defense or Oil & Gas industries is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to improve quality, cost, and delivery goals.

In-depth Problem Solving/Root Cause analysis.

Risk analysis (FMEA/FTA/Fishbone/8D process).

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to lead teams & influence decisions based on facts and process thinking.

Ability to build credibility and trust by demonstrating high ethical standards.

Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills that are Action oriented and customer focused.

Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.

Experience and understanding of MRP/ERP manufacturing systems.

Working knowledge of data management systems and statistical tools

Physical Demands

Light physical effort equal to occasional movement of TOG product or documentation

Regularly required to sit, stand, or walk throughout the facility
