Job Description
Kelly Scientific Resources currently has a Direct Hire opportunity for a Plant Biologist with experience in RNA isolation and RT-PCR.  This Associate Scientist will be responsible for setting up experiments and supports the genetic analysis platform for variety verification and virus identification for an innovative agricultural company.  This position requires ability to work out of Pullman, WA for approximately three months.  After that time, location can be based in Pullman, WA or Portland, OR.\r
Key Responsibilities:\r
\r
\r
\tConduct activities that require knowledge and application of molecular biology techniques\r
\tFollow protocols to complete variety verification and viral screening projects\r
\tAssist with the development of assays and protocols for new projects\r
\tEnsure that reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner\r
\tOrganize work plans and monitor progress of others within their area of focus\r
\tOrder lab supplies, manage inventory and equipment as needed\r
\tAssist in the hiring and training of new staff as needed\r
\tTake initiative in keeping current with literature in areas of assignment\r
\r

Qualifications:\r
\r
\r
\tMaster’s degree in molecular biology or related field or Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of progressive responsibilities in plant molecular biology\r
\tExperience with nucleic acid isolation, amplification, and analysis protocols\r
\tCapable of design and interpretation of scientific experiments\r
\r
\r
