Plant Controller

Primary purpose is to insure adequate financial controls and financial information to be used in managing our business. Supports the plant management with financial data and analysis in the attainment of plant and corporate goals. Provides supervision of timely and accurate financial reporting of payroll, accounts payable, budgeting, fixed assets, financial transactions, audits and analysis, costing, and controls as they relate to each aspect.

Required Skills

Directs all essential accounting operational functions in a timely and accurate manner developing methods geared to providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.

Actively participates in identifying and implementing cost reductions and working capital improvements.

Supports corporate accounting by assuming lead roles in both strategic and non strategic initiatives as required.

Preparation and explanation of annual budgets for capital, and tooling for manufacturing.

Monthly, quarterly, and periodical estimates of manufacturing actual expenses, comparison to AOP attained and analysis of variances.

Preparation, calculation, reporting and analysis of fixed assets appropriations, and customer tooling.

Monthly reporting and recording of actual plant financial transactions, e.g. Journal Entries, balance sheet and general ledger.

The accounting staff supports the facility in tracking and maintenance of TVM system.

Performs calculation of profitability (standard margin & EVA) of product groups.

Participates in plant-wide Business Operating System.

Supports facility in submission and review of capital appropriation requests and project tracking.

Coordinates Sarbanes-Oxley internal and external 404 audits

Performs analysis and appraisal of the plant financial status. Prepares recommendations with respect to future financial plans, forecasts and policies.

Supports plant gain sharing program through monthly and quarterly communication of results.

Provides direction, training and development of employees supervised.

Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Required Experience

Must have working knowledge of SAP

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university

7-12 years experience in finance, manufacturing background preferred
