Job Description

Provides financial guidance and assistance to the Engineering and business unit management; develops and maintains procedures for the financial control of all assets, revenues, and operating expenses; develops annual operating plan; is responsible for the accuracy of accounting methods, accounting records, and financial reports.


Direct the activities of shipping, receiving, warehousing and support value stream material analysts to ensure appropriate training and development of personnel to meet operational needs.

Establishes procedures to ensure sound financial control of assets, and reviews an upgrades cost and general accounting activities to ensure that all systems are properly developed and maintained to meet business unit financial reporting timetables.

Coordinates the preparation of the annual operating and strategic plan.

Prepares and interprets financial statements; directs the preparation of interprets financial analysis of operations; analyzes and counsels management on variance from the annual plan.

Evaluates and assists in the preparation of capital expenditure requests.

Directs the annual physical inventory.

Insures that the accounting and reporting follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Tenneco accounting policies and procedures.

Provides financial information to management and other personnel outside the plant.

Coordinate annual standard cost reviews and changes throughout the year.

Coordinate weekly manufacturing forecasts Coordinate monthly cash flow forecasts.

Perform various other manufacturing and operations analysis and reporting.

Participate in monthly closing activities with an emphasis on manufacturing and operations support.

Assist with Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley efforts/requirements.

Required Experience


Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field

5-7 years experience in cost accounting and budgeting in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge of applicable external/statutory reporting regulations (e.g., IRS, SEC, governmental, audits)

Experience with ERP system


MBA or CPA desirable

Experienced in the field of automotive

Knowledge of GAAP and other industry standards relating to accounting policies and procedures

Ability to interpret and explain complex financial data to the organization

Excellent communication skills

Supervisory experience

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and follow through projects to completion.

Self directed individual with the ability to work with and manage others in a team environment.

Solid communication skills, both written and oral.

Solid PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), SAP, Hyperion

Excellent leadership and team skills
