Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Pipefitter Specialist in National City, CA.

Summary: Read and interpret blueprints and sketches to repair, modify, install and dismantle various pipes and fittings associated with shipboard hydraulic, pneumatic and water systems. Perform fabrication, assembly and testing of piping systems and components. Involves heavy lifting, frequent stooping or bending and possible working assignments in overhead structures, confined spaces or beneath machinery. Strict adherence to safety, quality standards, good housekeeping habits, high level of critical thinking/reading. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain government base access.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Once assigned to a project, this position reports directly to the project Foreman in the performance of his/her responsibilities. In the absence of the Foreman, he/she will report to an individual designated by the Foreman.

Strict adherence to corporate, federal, state and local safety regulations prior to setting up or operating any machinery. In sure that all Epsilon Systems Mission Readiness Group Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) are worn and that all damaged PPE is discarded.

Maintain good housekeeping practices; turning off machines when not in use, disposing of waste properly, sweeping the area, etc.

All tools checked out from the Tool Room are your financial responsibility. Return tools/equipment to proper location and report any lost, missing, stolen or damaged items to the Facilities Foreman in accordance with Process Instruction.

Ensure that all requirements of the Epsilon Systems Mission Readiness Group Quality Assurance Manual are followed when invoked by QA Workbook, Work Package (WP), Work Instructions (WI) and/or other guidance given by management.

Follow detailed repair procedures and instructions (e.g.; QA Workbooks, Work packages steps, RECs, CWPs, FWPs, TGIs etc.) required to complete the production operations.

Notify Foreman of any unsatisfactory condition(s) identified during the production operation (i.e.; repair, modification, etc.).

Coordinating the efforts of other trades during an installation, modification or repair operation. Perform component and/or system troubleshooting to diagnose the problem and provide most cost effective recommendation for completing repairs. Perform and/or verify mechanical alignments.

Ensure control and assume responsibility for Level-1 material controls in accordance with Epsilon Systems Mission Readiness Group Instructions.

Perform installation, repair, overhaul or modification in place or in shop to piping systems and components (e.g.; valves, compressors, reducers, filters etc.).

Perform component and/or system troubleshooting to diagnose problems. Assist with the performance of on-site field service for system grooms and checkouts, minor repairs and system configuration validation.

Prepare and install equipment or system alterations (e.g.; TEMPALTs, SHIPALTs, ORDALTs, etc.) IAW the directives (i.e.; instructions, drawings, MILSPECs, etc.).

Required Qualifications:

Trade Apprenticeship Program completion or Equivalent Military Training. A combination of skills and years of experience can be substituted for this requirement.

15 years experience.

Requires no supervision and excels in all qualifications, is an expert in all tasks required as a Pipefitter and will provide mentoring to junior craftsman.

Must be able to understand and perform the set-up, alignment, and operation of all portable tools and hand tools used in the trade.

Expert knowledge and understanding of all shipboard piping systems (repair/ installation practices, procedures, pipe bending, alignments and troubleshooting) and blue print reading.

Ability to layout material prior to performing complex pipe bending operations and machine parts to achieve proper joint design as per Technical Work Documents.

Ability to fabricate and install complex fixtures, jigs, supports and targets to ensure proper alignment during the welding process.

Produces quality piping assemblies, in difficult or adverse conditions and is proficient in brazing.

Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration the presence of occasional and loud noises.

Able to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships).

Able to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs. in weight.

Must have manual and finger dexterity; able to grasp, manipulate, assemble small objects.

Able to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

Able to perceive and distinguish normal range of colors.

May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.
