Summer Interns

: College level rising

Juniors and Seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher who are either engineering or business majors may apply. College students are hired based on strategic university recruiting needs as identified on an annual basis. The intern period is a minimum of 10 weeks

, beginning June 4, 2018

and ending Mid- August.

The intern will be assigned to assist the MDM & Rate bolt on project teams and business to:

identify the business requirements for analytics reporting

document the analytics requirements and data mapping

create documentation repositories for easy access to project documentation

The interns will be expected to provide:

analytic products features and functionalities

conduct demo’s (with vendor) to IT and business

report listing with priority and complexity

data map depicting the source and destination systems

Report models identifying field mappings

Sharepoint site(s) with workflows to enable easy access for documentation and approval tracking

As an Intern for the PSEG Long Island Information Technology organization, you will have the opportunity to learn, first-hand, about the Electric System Operation and the 24x7 real-time, mission critical systems that support LIPA's Electric Transmission and Distribution Systems.

The position will entail working with IT staff on infrastructure, application and database support for IT and Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) systems.

Candidates for this position should be attending college for an electrical/power/computer engineering or computer science degree and have basic software programming & project management skills. Good communication skills and a strong desire to learn are essential.

As an employee of PSE&G or PSEG Long Island, you should be aware that during storm restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations.
