While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment. The Contract Manager implements a well-defined, well-documented sourcing and contract management processes to ensure that contractual expectations and objectives are met for capital construction projects. Manages the development, negotiation and implementation of major contracts leveraging spend, continuing to re-source recurring contractual commitments on a recurring cycle, and manages key supplier relationships. Work closely with project management, projects & construction, planning and engineering departments to manage client expectations and deliverables. The position has responsibility to assure continuity of supply for all key contracted materials and services, during regular intervals and during outages.The primary responsibilities for this position are the management and administration of contracts for various projects including: (a) managing change orders, claims and back charges; (b) asserting warranty claims; (c) developing methods for assessing contractor performance; and (d) implementing the appropriate processes and controls for protecting and preserving the Company’s contractual rights and remedies. For new contracts, this position will be responsible for planning, developing and coordinating innovative contracting strategies and solutions with client personnel, assisting in clearly and completely defining the scope of work, and assessing the qualifications and capabilities of contractors through RFPs or other processes . The Contract Manager will also lead all commercial negotiations. The Contract Manager reports to the Capital Contract Manager, but provides contract management services across the project organization and provides matrixed support to Project Managers. The Contract Manager will be responsible for acquiring and managing contract management professionals on an as-needed basis. This position at times requires management of the support required to restore customers during and after normal working hours and may require on-call duty during storms or other outage events. Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to multiple company locations and supplier facilities. The selected incubment is expected to start on or after Jan. 2, 2018. **_Knowledge and Experience Required:_** • B.S./B.A. Degree • 5 years large Contract Management experience. • 5 years construction or project management experience. • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as a sound understanding of projects and scheduling • Demonstrated excellent negotiating skills • SAP, ARIBA, or ERP experience • PowerAdvocate or similar RFP tool • Demonstrated ability to: o appropriately assess contractual risk and implement risk management strategies; o implement measures and methods to tie payment to performance; o monitor and manage cost and change; o define and manage deliverables and respective responsibilities between the Company and the contractor. · Must be able to work during emergencies such as power outages. · Candidate must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity. Successful candidate must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices. **_Desired Skills:_** · Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Engineering, Supply chain, or Law. · Strong analytical, market analysis and cost modeling skills · Experience with complex problem solving and innovative sourcing strategies · Demonstrated experience working on and with cross-functional commodity management teams · Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project, quality control systems (ISO, QS & Lean six sigma), e-sourcing and e-procurement applications a plus. · Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation. **PSEG1000** Business Unit- Long Island Business Services Incentive- 15% If you are a current PSEG employee and if you are offered an opportunity with PSEG Long Island, you will be treated as a new hire.
