Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for an individual to train and develop as an Operations Site Supervisor within our Generated Gases Group. Our group operates and maintains various types of Air Products’ Industrial Gas Standalone plants that are located within our Customers’ sites. These plants are highly automated, enabling them to be unattended and remotely operated. This position will ultimately have responsibility to support plant operations within a geographical area of Boise, ID and report to the Regional Generated Gases Line Manager.

This is a developmental salaried exempt role. The incumbent will work closely with a skilled Site Supervisor who has many years of operations experience. We will require the new Site Supervisor to obtain an understanding of all aspects of the Site Supervisor’s wide range of responsibilities (plant operations, maintenance, troubleshooting problems, and customer relations) with a specific focus on leadership and operating skills at each of the Standalone sites within the assigned geographic area.
As the new Site Supervisor progresses and develops an understanding of the various operating systems, he/she will begin to take on primary Site Supervisor responsibility for plants, under the guidance of the experienced Site Supervisor in the area.
There will also be some traveling required to support other Generated Gases operations activities.
The successful candidate must be able to develop their self and others, deliver safety, drive results, a good communicator, and develop good organization, operating, mechanical, and problem solving skills.
Key Responsibilities for this position include:
Commitment to our Environment, Health, and Safety standards, to maintain the highest degree of personal safety and environmental accountability, at all times.
Ensure the safety compliance of all contractors, vendors, and internal technical support, whenever they are performing work within your site.
Manage all aspects of the day to day operations, to drive improvements in plant reliability and profitability by:
Performing preventative maintenance tasks.
Supporting the coordination, execution, and supervision of planned and unplanned plant outages due to mechanical, electrical, controls, or process issues.
Ability to respond to after hour and weekend 24/7 calls related to plant issues and/or customer supply concerns.
Manages and escalates equipment, process, safety, and product quality issues by timely and effective communications when needed with:
Customer contacts, Standalone Business Manager, North America Operating Service Center (OSC), Regional Maintenance Manager, Generated Gases Technical Support Team, and Operations Line Manager.

Operating experience in similar plants or operations of similar complexity a plus.
Technical School Graduates: Students with a background in Industrial Systems, Machine Tool Technology, Electromechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Automotive Technology, HVAC, Process Technology, Electrical Technology, Instrumentation Technology are encouraged to apply.
