As an Optics Commodity Manager, you will use your Optics industry knowledge and partner relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global - and growing - infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.

You'll manage the planning, execution and delivery of key strategic commodities in support of our optical manufacturers. You will work closely with internal customers, procurement, and operations partners to develop accurate delivery plans that directly support Google’s rapidly growing hardware infrastructure. You will also drive the evolution of tools, systems and processes that enable greater operational efficiency, accuracy and utilization of assets.

Work across various organizations to aggregate world-wide demand forecasts for key strategic Optics; work with cross-functional partners to develop and execute high quality material plans that enable production and deployment of leading edge optical technology to power our global data centers.

Develop and execute high quality global supply plans that efficiently utilize inventory and collaborate with internal cross functional teams to drive contract manufacturer capability and capacity to enable on-time and predictable delivery of material to all points of consumption.

Manage schedule, capacity, supply chain flexibility, quality challenges and new product updates, communicate status and risks to management, discuss services and pricing, master service agreements, statements of work and measure partner performance and drive continuous improvement with regular business reviews.

Work closely with contract manufacturers to ensure on-time delivery and champion process improvements and tool development in support of delivery, inventory planning, and management reporting requirements, develop and maintain contract manufacturing strategy and partner relationships.


Minimum qualifications:

BA/BS degree in Business or equivalent practical experience.

5 years of work experience in Supply Chain/Manufacturing: Manufacturing/Factory Operations, S&OP;, Fulfillment Planning and Execution.

4 years of experience in strategic business planning.

2 years of experience in Optics manufacturing and Optical supply chain processes.

Preferred qualifications:

MBA or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Operations Engineering or other relevant field.

7 years of work experience in Supply Chain/Manufacturing: Manufacturing/Factory Operations, S&OP;, Fulfillment Planning and Execution. Experience with ERP Manufacturing, planning, inventory modules.

4 years of experience in Optics manufacturing and Optical supply chain processes.

Experience with spreadsheet, SQL and scripting platforms.
