Project Loon is a network of balloons traveling on the edge of space, designed to connect people in rural and remote areas, help fill coverage gaps, and bring people back online after disasters. Project Loon is a part of X.

The Operations team is a team within Loon dedicated to coordinating, preparing, and launching Loon’s stratospheric balloons. As an Operations Production Engineer, you will be a primary link between our engineering teams and our field operations teams. You’ll be responsible for communicating, generating, and improving documentation on behalf of engineering to support the field operations team as well as giving constructive feedback to our engineering teams to improve the process. In addition, you will be responsible for periodically auditing vendor staffed facilities, ensuring that the assembly and testing of flight vehicles are being safely and properly executed. You should be a self starting individual who is able to drive complex/cross-functional projects forward in a rapidly evolving and exciting business.

X is a moonshot factory where uncomfortably ambitious, potentially world-changing new ideas such as self-driving cars, balloon-powered Internet and smart contact lenses are developed and taken out into the world. X projects have the potential to transform the lives of billions of people and make the world a radically better place. We’re a team of makers, entrepreneurs, engineers and scientists with deep technical expertise who love the challenge of the seemingly impossible. X was formerly known as Google[x].
