Operations Business Analyst

Job Description:

SUMMARY:

The Operations Business Analyst will be responsible for driving business process optimization, and operational and financial improvements in the fast growth wireless infrastructure business.  The incumbent will contribute independently and lead teams to document, analyze, and identify business process improvements and technology enhancements.  The Analyst will create reports to analyze operational data, interpret the results and make recommendations to achieve desired business outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Drive improved financial and operational results through improved business processes:

Facilitate on-going communication with functional business owners and team members to gain a thorough understanding of a department’s operational procedures to ensure relevant information is incorporated into policies and procedures.

Analyze, research, develop, write, and/or edit policy and procedure documents according to applicable standards and procedures, including formal policies and procedures, operational forms, and departmental operating procedures.

Partner and facilitate conversations with functional business owners on identifying and capturing in writing operational processes, regulatory requirements, and best practices, for the purpose of creating effective policies and procedures; provide recommendations for process improvements or technology enhancements.

Act as a resource and subject matter expert on operational policies and procedures to ensure consistent and appropriate interpretation and application.

Lead team process training and monitor process deployment effectiveness

Lead the department's continuous improvement and quality initiatives

Audit business process performance, summarize results, and initiate improvement initiatives

Lead department operational analytics:

Identify, develop, modify, maintain and continuously improve analytical reporting to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness

Develop and refine high quality, executive-level summary reports and analyses

Analyze business data to reveal trends, opportunities and risks, and distribute findings to internal teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Self-motivated analytical thinker; able to work independently and collaboratively to complete tasks and respond to requests and to work with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify quality solutions.

Ability to work with functional groups and all level of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results

Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs

Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively

Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Four-year college degree in business, planning, engineering, or business consulting or equivalent work experience required

Four to six years of experience in process, operational, project management and process improvement

Work experience with wireless infrastructure equipment vendors, in-building distributed antenna system (DAS) deployments, outside plant/fiber engineering/deployment or in the wireless tower industry preferred, but not required

ENVIRONMENT:

Approximately 90% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.  Approximately 10% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
