Job Description

Role and Objectives:

This position supports plant and business unit leadership by providing insight and analysis for plant decision support, including product cost, incremental cost, scrap savings, product mix, new products, make vs. buy, and return-seeking capital projects.

This role will ensure data integrity and full flow path connection in all models used to optimize strategic and operational performance.

Critical Competencies:

The incumbent must have high level of familiarity with the Warrick Operations flow paths and very strong analytical skills and

the ability to quickly synthesize and interpret data

He/She must also be results oriented with a focus on profit, equipment efficiency, production strategy and the customer.

Must be forward thinking and change driven while valuing diversity and collaboration with other members of the organization.

The incumbent must have demonstrated ability to develop solutions, define data driven proposals and secure sponsorship.


Develop, own, maintain and continuously improve the financial model for the entire Warrick Enterprise, Power Plant – Smelter – Rolling Mill, to enable in the moment operational decision making to maximize profitability for the site.

Own, maintain and continuously improve the Scrap Parity Model to support scrap purchasing decisions.

Develop monthly reporting for scrap savings.

Perform ad-hoc Business Unit business analyses on revenue, costs and profitability levers

Analyze financial trade-offs for changes in product mix and provide recommendations to optimize the portfolio.

Be a resource for new product development

and connection related kaizens.

Initiate, lead and participate in such kaizens.

Understand the cost and profitability of outside toll processors and support location leadership with make vs. buy decisions.

Provide analysis and calculate cost savings for return-seeking capital projects.

Develop methods to optimize trade-offs and decision-making across the integrated site (power plant, smelter, and rolling mill).

Work with IT to design and develop processes to utilize SAP to store and sustain all data related to operational models and flow path.

Partner with Finance to develop cost reporting tools for manufacturing operational leaders.

Job Requirements:


Basic Qualifications

•    BS Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Engineering or related field

•    7 years manufacturing experience with a complex product flow path

Preferred Qualification

•    Working knowledge of SAP

•    Working knowledge of ABS (lean manufacturing) concepts and their application

•    7 years of experience in the manufacturing processes of can body, end, and tab aluminum sheet.

•    7 years of experience in roles that require complex analysis and influencing top business leaders on profit/loss decisions.
