About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FENOC, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

Educating and directing others on technical subject matters, improve element programs and processeffectiveness, and make significant contributions to the achievement of element goals and objectives

Leading diverse projects / processes / programs

Maintaining a safe workplace for coworkers and the community based upon knowledge of potential hazardsand industry regulations/requirements

Developing of designated programs and policies

Integrating strategic, technical concepts into business unit activities; Providing strategic direction acrossDepartment

Developing high-level solutions for complex technical assignments

Serving as a “thought leader” and technical resource for less tenured employees

Promoting a sense of urgency in the team for reaching goals and meeting deadlines

Qualifications

BS degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school or a Professional Engineers License. (Advanceddegree is a plus).

Working knowledge and experience in the management and administration of Windows, Linux andOpenVMS operating systems.

Working knowledge and experience in TCP/IP, DECnet and LAT network protocols.

Working knowledge and experience in DNS, SMTP, NTP and SAMBA network applications on numerousoperating systems.

Working knowledge and experience in configuring and managing network switches and firewalls.

Working knowledge and experience with Fortran, Visual Basic, C programming languages.

Familiarity with OSIsoft PI and managing PI servers.

Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environmentwill affect outcomes.

Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correctperformance, relative to the goals of the system.

Viewed as a technical expert in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, andother business-unit specific applications. SAP a plus

Demonstrate a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results, and strengthen existingrelationships

In-depth understanding of applicable, technical products and/or services and of customer needs andexpectations

Model active learning through continuing to develop breadth of knowledge, skills, and perspective
