North America Account Manager

Job Description Purpose:This position is responsible for managing a territory of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical customers in North America as part of the Pharma SAFI division of DuPont Nutrition and Health (N&H). This division combines the legacy excipients businesses of Dow and FMC, two of the most well-known and trusted suppliers in the industry. As an account manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for providing a high-level of service to a wide-range of customers. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly evolving, leading pharmaceutical excipients division and contribute to its success by driving growth. Main Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the role revolve around three major components: managing the customer relationship and acting as \u201cone face to the customer\u201d to represent the combined pharmaceutical offering of Dow, FMC, and DuPont delivering the sales plan on a customer and territory level creating, maintaining, and progressing an opportunity pipeline to drive above-market growth in the territory. Managing the customer relationship: Active management of account portfolio (retention) Act as the \u201cpoint person\u201d for interaction with customer procurement, formulation, and operation groups; serve as the liason between these groups and other DuPont functions Build relationships with key stakeholders in the customer organization Develop in-depth understanding of customer needs and capabilities Fully represent the combined Dow, FMC, and DuPont portfolio and routinely demonstrate the value for customers created by the merger Execute the business and marketing strategies at assigned customer accounts Achieve and maintain \u201cfirst intent\u201d formulation and supply position with key customers Negotiate pricing and achieve long-term volume commitments in contracts with key accounts Delivering the sales plan: Develop bottoms-up annual sales plan by customer\/product Responsible for accurate monthly forecasting based on a deep understanding of customer needs Identify trends and demand drivers impacting the market and the business of individual customers Actively manage pricing to maximize profitability Understand competitive situation and propose mitigation plans Maintaining an opportunity pipeline Use to manage an up-to-date pipeline of growth and defense projects Understand opportunities to expand business with new projects Lead business development work to expand account portfolio (acquisition) Contribute to innovation projects with meaningful customer input Execute regional campaigns within the territory by identifying customer targets, arranging customer meetings and seminars, and progressing leads into opportunities and eventually sales Leverage learnings and success stories to other accounts Critical Competencies: Customer Focus\/ Action Oriented \u2013 Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm.
