Negotiations Team Member','17000AS7','!*!BE EMPOWERED & INSPIREDWe create an inclusive and diverse work environment because different perspectives result in the best ideas.The Product Support & Logistics Division currently has an opening for a Negotiations Team Member located in the Peoria, IL area.  The position of Negotiations Team Member will be the key person for delivering on cost reduction through supplier negotiations.  This person will identify the list of supplier fact packs to complete for the year working in conjunction with various Category Managers.                                                                                                   This person will also get commitments from various category managers on the percent cost reduction their category will deliver for the year and hold governance reviews as needed to track progress toward goals.Primary Duties:Prioritize lists of supplier fact packs to complete for the yearGain firm agreement on the supplier fact pack listDetermine if fact packs are primarily for negotiation or for resourceCascade requirements to fact pack creatorEnsure fact packs completed as per agreed planHold preliminary reviews to work toward fact pack approvalEnsure fact pack LAA opportunity is capturedSupport C&DS during negotiations with any required / necessary dataRun governance meetings for all major categoriesCompile metrics and tracking for governance reviewsClear communication of goals to category managersUnderstand pipeline of projects and ability to fill gaps with innovative methodsUnderstanding of core vs. non-core vs. exit suppliersDetermine when a fact pack is complete and ready for full reviewImplement process improvements as necessaryAbility to handle day to day roadblocks of job while practicing the Caterpillar valuesEscalate matters to manager and others as necessary                                           Relay relevant ideas coming out of category reviews to engineering teams Aligned to divisional common goals - job is critical in communicating and executing towards goalAbility to evaluate multiple options and choose / recommend one primary to the teamCollaborate with RPM teams outside of division','!*!Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree5 years of experience in procurement, accounting, finance, manufacturing, and/or engineeringSupplier negotiation experience and knowledgePrevious project management experience  Top Candidates Will Also Have:Strong negotiation skills and/or previous negotiations trainingStrong organization skillsStrong collaboration skillsSolid networking ability, which is vital to our vision and successStrong interpersonal skills that will enable leadership of othersDrive change managementStrong ability to align culture and business objectives
