This position is for a Monitoring Engineer for our Digital Channels. We are looking for multiple positions to build out the monitoring capability and are open to various levels of experience with just the minimums listed here. In this position, you will help us design, develop, and support our next generation digital services platform. We are building a modern, highly scalable, distributed micro services based digital platform for our customers using some best-in-class, open-source technologies such as Spring boot/Cloud, NodeJs, ReactJs and others. We have a progressive, forward thinking Digital Product, Platform, and Operations team and believe in empowering our teams.

This role will be responsible for the various monitoring tools for the eCommerce systems. This position requires a high level of aptitude on various monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace to define monitoring & performance standards and guidelines for the eCommerce systems. This position will have direct contact with 3rd party vendors and will need to communicate clearly to ensure the vision of the organization is represented to other organizations.

Key responsibilities

Build and lead proactive monitoring solution platform for Neiman’s eCommerce ecosystem.

Identify improvements within current monitoring setup and help drive capability improvements

Work with Internal and external parties to utilize appropriate monitors, alert configurations and procedures for triage and analysis.

Maintain current functional and technical knowledge of monitoring platform and future products.

Establish baselines and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in measuring application performance across releases.

Support, maintain, and expand Splunk, Dynatrace Appmon/Synthetic infrastructure and configuration.

Setting up monitoring for dynamic environments running on AWS cloud infrastructure.

Consulting with various teams to customize monitoring tools in order to meet their requirements.

Mentor and train various teams on how to use Splunk and Dynatrace tools.

Working with load testing team and help analyze data.

Hold internal and external partners accountable for website SLA','!*!

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline

Proficient in production monitoring concepts and implementation including synthetic, real user, application performance, system, log, time-series, and dashboards

Knowledge of leveraging tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Newrelic, Splunk, etc

Proficient in production systems design including High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Performance, Efficiency, and Security

Hands-on proficiency in a scripting languages to drive monitoring needs (python, shell, AWS)

Proficient in a Linux or Unix based environment

Good understanding of modern micro service based architectures and operations

Experience in a cloud computing platforms and in hybrid environments

Hands on experience in monitoring distributed, high-availability, customer facing platforms

Understanding of technologies such as NGINX, Spring, Elasticsearch, Cassandra

Good knowledge of middleware technologies such as JBoss or Websphere/Weblogic
