The purpose of this role is to support the Director, Marketing in the overall go to market strategy, promotion of products and services ensuring the organization’s values, ambitions and goals are achieved. This is a central role responsible for strategic planning, implementation and execution of integrated marketing, including the marketing service deliverables and continuous development of consumer products and services to meet relevant business objectives. Providing effective and efficient marketing support in development of robust strategic marketing planning for each product, will be the primary focus and measurement of success. You will be expected to be an advocate for products and specific value proposition and benefits. Additionally, you will be charged with crafting the strategy around the messaging and marketing via omni-channel optimization for new product launches and ongoing product marketing of the company’s legacy consumer products.

The position is located at the Corporate Offce in Akron, Ohio and reports to the Director, Marketing.

Responsibilities include:

Acts as marketing services primary point of contact for collaborating with cross-functional teams from creative/agency, operations, consumer products portfolio team, and legal to produce effective promotional materials and website updates

Campaign Management, ownership and accountability to consistently develop, manage, and efficiently track all channel marketing promotions, detailed annual cadence by product offering

Perform successful collaborative project management and coordination, organizing, implementing and monitoring projects, meeting deadlines, communicating risks and responding to changing priorities and circumstances.

Conduct marketing operations within relevant department budgets and vendor partner co-op relationships

Under direction of leadership and together with the products teams, educate both internal and external stakeholders to drive adoption on product value proposition and consumer benefits

Oversee execution, integration and implementation of creative content and assets and work with support areas to create effective product marketing content (e.g. sales documentation, product videos, website copy, blog posts, and other forums) to articulate the benefits of our products

Refine marketing strategy for products beginning in the development phase through to commercialization, launch and throughout product life cycle

Lead, develop and manage marketing team, media work flow production schedules, approvals (to include legal) with internal and external partners

Production work flow management to administer market-planning criteria developed by the working teams

Collaborate with data analysts to enable product portfolio managers and product innovators to enhance development and enable sales

Foster relationships and develop strategic direction with cross-departmental stakeholders

Partner with Database Marketing, CRM Analyst and Operations teams on development and production of timely marketing channel strategy implementations

Accountable for the performance and results of a team(s) within own discipline or function; Provide leadership and direction to fellow team members

Maintain a high level of safety commitment throughout day to day functions

Drive continuous improvement across the business unit and the company

Create an environment of accountability and a sense of urgency for meeting agreed-upon expectations/deadlines

Execute the performance management process by providing feedback and coaching on an ongoing basis throughout the year by discussing development opportunities, performance issues, and changes that are occurring; Conduct performance reviews with employees; Engage employees to establish and achieve scheduled milestones and appropriate benchmarking measures for safety, reliability, customer service, financial performance, and/or compliance

Lead efforts that increase productivity and goal accomplishment across Business Unit

Analyze complex issues and develop actionable recommendations; Ensure that decisions impacting a team(s) are based on data and sound reasoning

Understand and schedule work according to departmental budget

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems on projects and/or processes before they become major issues

Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and broaden/deepen relationships; Anticipate customers’ needs and propose alternative solutions when necessary

Encourage open, honest, direct, and ongoing conversation across a team(s)

Actively seek and share own knowledge of industry trends, competitors, etc. that affect the Business unit and/or the company

Champion an environment where self-development is encouraged


Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Advertising Administration or related discipline required

Minimum 10 years professional work experience required with experience in consumer product marketing, market-planning, advertising, digital and website marketing and product management preferred

Aptitude or acumen for digital marketing

Solid business acumen

Demonstrated web development experience, familiar with current design and technology trends and methodologies

Solid understanding of digital marketing best practices across CRM, website, digital marketing and social media

Detailed knowledge and experience of the multi-channel creative and design process, possess a solid understanding of principles, standards, best practices and protocols associated with implementing and growing efficient cross-channel planning and campaign management

Demonstrated ability to lead and develop others, delegation of assigned projects to team along with milestones and accountability

Ability to think and act strategically; Ability to make accurate decisions; Demonstrate sound judgment

Experience working with outside agency partners and 3rd party vendors partners

Significant experience strategizing and executing marketing campaigns

Experience in brand management and project management preferred

Experienced in work flow process development and continuous improvement

Excellent written and verbal communication skills --- proven ability to develop, write and present/sell the construct of each product’s marketing plan and adapt communications to all audiences

Proficiency in content optimization systems. Ability to work with cross-functional teams to build product pages, optimize the conversion paths on those pages, and use smart calls-to-action to create, drive adoption, and test buyer stage-specific CTAs

Understanding of print and media procurement, production and implementation a plus

Effective collaborator working in a cross-team capacity - this role requires you to work across functions and departments to bring products to life, driving results

Detail oriented, strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills

Must show initiative and adaptability, be reliable and able to take responsibility and direction well

Highly driven, self-motivated and enthusiastic leader capable of communicating, motivating, and driving workforces toward positive change and improvement

Exceptional relationship management, leadership, teamwork, and managerial skills

Demonstrated ability to both develop and execute an agreed upon strategy for driving a creative and entrepreneurial approach to analyzing situations and developing solutions improvement in an organization
