POSITION DESCRIPTION\r

The Medical Networks and Panels Administrative Assistant is responsible for maintaining accurate medical provider data within the Company’s existing networks and panels. The position is a liaison to existing and new networks and panels, and required to foster effective working relationships with providers and facilitate the assessment and enrollment of new providers.\r

RESPONSIBILITIES\r
\r
\r
\r
\tAssist in the enrollment and maintenance of medical networks and panels for the treatment of injured workers.\r
\tEnsure provider documentation is complete, current and accurate, as well as ensure the accuracy of provider data entered into the database.\r
\tAssist in monitoring provider performance and provide feedback to key stakeholders and\/or providers as required.\r
\tProvide service to network providers through resolution of inquiries and education as to new protocols, policies and procedures.\r
\tFoster a close working relationship with other Company staff, including Utilization Review, Medical Bill Review, nursing services, special investigations, adjusting staff, legal, lien resolution the Call Center and Client Services.\r
\tServe as access assistant for claims staff and injured workers to enable prompt scheduling of medical appointments for injured workers, reaching out to providers when necessary to obtain further information regarding acceptance of workers’ compensation patients.\r
\tAssist with operational functions to ensure operational compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations, including data tracking, preparation of packets of information for regulatory review and compilation of information in response to audits.\r
\tEnsure work is performed in accordance with Company standards, training and supervisory direction to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.\r

QUALIFICATIONS\r
\r
EDUCATION\/EXPERIENCE: Associate’s degree from an accredited college or technical school; or at least three years of relevant experience in provider services\/relations within a health plan or medical group; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. ·\r
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Able to read and interpret complex documents including statutes, regulations, legal opinions, legal letters, medical records, medical bills, medical resource materials, claim notes and claim data fields; Able to write clear, effective correspondence on medical points; Able to effectively present information and respond to questions with managers, staff, medical providers and others.\r
MATH ABILITY: Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent. · REASONING ABILITY: Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.\r
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Solid knowledge base in the delivery of health care, as well as either physician and\/or hospital coding.\r
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of Microsoft word processing software and Microsoft spreadsheet software; Able to quickly master proprietary and vended software applications.\r
