Develops Technology and Solutions to address gaps in the current State of the Marine Industry knowledge base in advanced materials and coatings applications. Must be capable, based on your demonstrated technical knowledge, skills, and abilities, of taking a problem statement and turning it into a actionable plan based on available budget of time and dollars allocated. Leading the execution of self developed and team developed plans. This position will be expected to both execute plans though personal abilities and contracted support services. Performs qualitative and quantitative analyses of organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties during material testing of coatings, adhesives, resins, or polymers. Designs experiments and conducts research to develop or improve analytical techniques, methodology, procedures, and investigates application of instruments in analysis.
