Function: Operations

Title: Material Coordinator - 41564

Your Responsibilities

As a Material Coordinator at John Deere Des Moines Works located in Ankeny, IA you will support production by managing and coordinating all aspects of material availability as well as set and establish priorities for a department(s). In addition, you will:

Manage the schedule of requirements by running a report to communicate issues and concerns to operations

Manage schedule availability by working lights as defined, working Kanban board, special ordering parts as required, and expediting as necessary to maintain part availability

Manage departmental inventory accuracy by evaluating COGI records, evaluating Kanban statuses, minimizing aged inventory charges both WIP and finished

Work a missing parts report and communicate any issues and concerns to the necessary parties on providing part availability

Help analyze and resolve problems in SAP, such as misreported parts, incorrect routings and tracking points

Actively support CI200, Material Improvement Teams, shop floor initiatives and help support process improvements

Work with the service department to determine if action files can / should be placed to move or cancel orders

What Skills You Need

Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Experience working in a high energy, fast paced job

Strong interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

Experience in a role that required attention to detail

What Makes You Stand Out

Working knowledge of the SAP or MRP system

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-Time, or Material Flow concepts

Knowledge of Kanban and other delivery methods

Experience in a manufacturing or factory setting

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Bachelor's degree in Business/Management, Engineering, or Supply Management
