Summary: This position meets with builders, developers, and customers to coordinate actions required to provide gas service, initiates and develops opportunities for gas sales, and represents the Company on gas service, billing and other customer account issues. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: • Develops a network of relationships with commercial and residential developers, builders, architect, engineers, trade allies and city officials to build customer loyalty and influence customer energy choice. • Engages in activities and speaking engagements at trade and business associations and civic groups. • Prepares financial analysis to evaluate the feasibility and cost for adding customers. • Monitors construction process and serves as liaison between customer and Operations to ensure timely completion of work. • Coordinates and prepares customer proposals such as Pre-Development Contracts and correspondence and invoices for Contribution in Aid of Construction. • Initiates and develops opportunities for gas sales, and establishes leads for successful market-driven activities to educate and promote the use of appropriate gas end-use technologies to targeted customers. • Develops relationship with community and civic leaders so that CNP Gas is regarded as a partner. • Verifies equipment type, size, and location. Marks the location of proposed facilities for construction forces where appropriate. • Prepares client presentations and departmental reports • Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or related field or a combination of education and related experience, providing equivalent competencies. Experience: With a bachelor's degree, no experience required. W/out a bachelor's degree, a minimum of three (3) years gas and/or electric distribution or related business experience, including at least one (1) year of direct (face-to-face) customer contact/interaction. Additional Knowledge, Skills, Licenses/Certifications, Abilities & Personal Characteristics (KSLAPs): • Able to demonstrate and apply business and financial acumen related to natural gas distribution industry, marketing and sales. • Able to perform economic analysis of business opportunities and successfully achieve sales goals. • Able to develop and retain new business and identify, analyze and respond to marketing opportunities, competitor activities and customer needs. • Able to demonstrate and apply effective oral and written communication skills • Able to develop and present written/oral material (including effective presentations) to clients, team members and management. • Able to manage multiple projects/tasks, perform concurrent assignments and prioritize requests and work assignments in light of priorities. • Able to find innovative solutions with a can-do problem solving attitude, applying diligence, determination and creativity to resolving all challenges. • Able to use personal computers and software, such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation and e-mail. • Able to use mathematics required to perform such engineering calculations to determine load size, pipe sizing, and cost estimates. • Able to develop, analyze, interpret and communicate technical information from drawings, reports and documents. • Able to understand Company line extension and service policies. • Able to apply knowledge of gas systems and equipment operation, regulations and standards. • Able to provide and maintain a valid state Driver's License and safe driving record. • Able to provide a valid state driver's license and present and maintain a good driving record and to operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies • Able to work well independently or in a team based environment to accomplish assignments and achieve objectives. • Able to demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Ethics and Compliance Code of Conduct, and other Company policies and procedures and do so consistently, take all required training courses and do so timely • Able to demonstrate respect for all individuals, adhere to the Company's values and business practices and do both consistently Physical Requirements: • Able to communicate in a clear manner. • Able to hear oral communication either in person or on equipment such as a telephone, mobile phone or radio. • Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop. • Able to operate office machines including telephone, photocopier, fax machine, calculator, laptop, mobile phone, etc. • Able to operate a motor vehicle including ability to enter and exit the vehicle unassisted. • Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Working Conditions: • Able to work regular hours, with occasional overtime. • Able to perform work indoors in an office environment and outdoors. • Able to travel outside of primary work location, in any weather conditions and occasionally overnight, to field locations, remote areas, conferences and/or meetings.
