MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS INTERN   \r
Marketing Communications, within the Corporate Communications Department, is responsible for all marketing activities related to external communications including advertising, creative design, new product commercialization, website development, literature and sales aids, photography and video, brand identity, tradeshows and analysis of effectiveness of marketing activities for all business units, subsidiaries, and locations of Carpenter. \r
This internship will provide the opportunity to participate in all facets of marketing for a large corporation and develop essential skills for a career in marketing or communications.  PRIMARY DUTIES During the internship the student will assist the department in support of specific projects. The intern will work with personnel to participate in planning, coordinating, executing and analyzing marketing communications activities. In addition to assisting with ongoing projects, at least one primary project will be identified in which the intern will be responsible for full completion, from start to finish, during the term of the Internship.  Participate in Web Discovery and web development projects in preparation for major website content revisions and redesign. Participate in marketing and new product development activities. Assist with organization of tradeshows and post-show reporting. Catalog and digitally archive marketing communications assets such as images, documents, datasheets, and displays. Understand digital marketing including email, social media, web ads, SEO and web analytics. \r
REQUIREMENTS Student should have completed 2 years of college and must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program studying in the fields of Marketing, Communications or Business. Qualified students should have a minimum 2.75 grade point average to be considered for any position. Student should have completed introductory level marketing or communications courses or higher. Intermediate computer skills - proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and familiarity with graphics programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe, etc.) and HTML. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint preferred, but not necessary. All positions require self-starters who are highly motivated and who have excellent communication, interpersonal skills and professional image. Candidate must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage several projects at once. \r
