Job Description

The purpose of the Brand Strategy, Creative and Design team is to lead the development of the brand strategy, including the planning and development of communications programs that build Allstate brand consideration and reputation, drive brand consistency, and broaden the brand footprint across all media and communication vehicles. The team is also responsible for developing and maintaining the Allstate brand identity, including brand standards and guidelines. The team regularly collaborates and integrates with various marketing and business partners, internal and external, to ensure programs and communications are strategically aligned with business goals and strategies.

Job Summary

The Assistant Marketing Manager (Asst. Manager) supports the planning, creative development and execution of marketing communications programs and plans that build the brand and corporate reputation. The Asst. Manager manages the day-to-day execution of brand and corporate marketing communications tactics, with a strong emphasis on philanthropic, social responsibility, thought leadership and reputation/brand-building programs. This position works closely with key stakeholders in Corporate Relations, and partners with Marketing, Law & Regulation and other business areas to gain input to develop, execute and measure the marketing plan. The Asst. Manager must possess a variety of project management and creative competencies including strong attention-to-detail, advanced communication skills, strong copyediting skills and the ability to evaluate creative/advertising (a focus on activation, print, collateral and digital/social). The Asst. Manager should be able to provide constructive project feedback, which includes overall strategy and creative direction, to both internal and external partners. The Asst. Manager is expected to demonstrate meticulous follow-through and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the planning, creative development and implementation of integrated brand and corporate marketing communications to support various programs and strategies, offering solutions and recommendations to manager and other contributing team members.

• Manage required day-to-day tasks, including status reports, budgets, timelines, legal and key stakeholder approvals, and managing external and internal creative departments/agencies.

• Assist with the development of presentations, program overviews, recaps, and other materials for internal meetings and presentations; present work internally to Marketing leadership and other business partners.

• Contribute to integration across Consumer Marketing and Corporate Relations teams, building relationships with internal and external business partners and resources.

• Initiate ideas and actions on cross-functional teams.

• Work with solid level of independence on new or unfamiliar projects.

Job Qualifications

Intermediate organization and project/program/time management skills

Intermediate presentation development and delivery skills

Intermediate experience using Microsoft suite; advanced PowerPoint skills a plus

Intermediate relationship, interpersonal and negotiation skills

Beginner solutions skills; flexible in times of change

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; strong ability to write, copyedit and judge creative

4-5 years of Marketing/Advertising experience, preferably in an agency setting

Interest and experience in 501c3, CSR and Foundation-led programs is a plus

Background in experiential marketing activations is also a plus

Must be highly motivated and a passionate team player

Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred: Marketing, Advertising, Journalism or Communications concentration preferred
